“The Best Hotel I Have Ever Stayed At!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW via mobile

The Brice Hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The decor in the lobby and the rooms were amazing. We spent a few days of our honeymoon there on the way to Florida and we didn't want to leave. The outdoor sitting area was one of our favorite things along with the daily happy hour in the lobby. The staff was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our time in savannah was well spent. The hotel staff upgraded our room when they found out that it was our honeymoon and while we were at dinner one night, we came back to the room to find a bottle of champagne and note congratulating us on our marriage and thanking us for spending our honeymoon with them. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The only downside was the pool wasn't open yet..but that was not even a big deal. We can't wait to come back down to savannah and this will be the only place we will stay.

We loved the Brice. The bed was amazingly comfortable, the room was well stocked with a wide array of refreshments, and the bathroom had this incredible, huge soaker tub that easily accommodates two. The decorations were funky and delightful. There are many wonderful Savannah restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: Be sure to get one with a soaker tub!

This is a charming hotel in a great location along the river. The bar/restaurant was vibrant with a mixed crowd of locals relaxing after work and hotel guests. Food was well prepared and interesting. I was appreciative of the front desk giving me a complimentary upgrade to a king suite, but ended up moving to a smaller room as the suite was at street level along the very busy E Bay Street, and the road noise was abominable. Unfortunately they simply moved me to the third floor, where the noise was actually louder. To their credit they comped me breakfast, but upon checkout i heard another guest complain of the noise to the front desk and they were advised to make sure they asked for a room on the interior if they returned to stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as far from the street as possible.

No turn down service. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have a happy hour for guests which was very nice with wine and food and we really enjoyed the bourbon and apple cider coming back in from a cold rainy day. The bathroom had the wet area shower and bath within the same enclosed space with giant mirrors reflecting across the entire bathroom. The heat also never really seemed to work no matter what you set it at.

Overall:
The hotel itself is very cute, has a lot of charm to it. The staff is wonderful and very helpful all around. As some have mentioned the social hour from 5-6pm is a nice perk. They do not have a gym which was unfortunate as I was there all week for a work meeting. Luckily you can get plenty of walking in around the city. They are building a gym, not sure when it will be completed.

Room:
The rooms I felt were small, I had 2 queen beds with little room for anything else. The bathroom area is also very cramped and there is no closet. The first room I had had a view looking at a wall, so I was switched to a room that overlooked the gym construction, neither was very pleasant. Also, there is a separate part of the hotel which you have to walk outside through a hallway for, this got to be a pain and the weather was cold.

The location was good, although be prepared to either walk a lot or take a trolley around as you are a little ways from the historic district. We enjoyed walking and didn't mind. It was very close to the riverfront.

Overall the hotel was nice and cute. I would stay there again if the price was a little more reasonable. I think it was a little overpriced.

Room Tip: ask for a room closer to the lobby otherwise you have to walk across a hallway outside to get to you...

We were lucky to land The Brice through a Priceline booking so will not complain about the price. The staff were all very friendly, the property was clean, quiet, and quite comfortable. No coffee or tea pot in room, but the housekeeping staff was quick to bring one for us to use for hot water. Ate in the bar area of restaurant - very friendly bar servers, and good food. Weather was lousy, so no use of the pool or outside amenities, but there was a courtyard with comfortable looking furniture - wish we could have used it. Wine reception in afternoon was well attended, and met some nice travelers. Easy walk to riverfront for other restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. Pirate's House restaurant is around the corner.

The best part of the Brice experience was the excellent service providers. All of the personnel were excellent, courteous, explementary in every way. Otherwise, a major disappointment. $250 a night and no coffee in the small cramped rooms? One chair, no dressers, no microwave or small refrigerators. Really? I understand pet friendly. I love dogs. But it seemed like there were more dogs there, than people. We started referring to the Brice as the most expensive kennel we have ever stayed in. I can't imagine how cramped those rooms are with two large dogs.....maybe the dogs had their own rooms. We were cramped without dogs. Since coffee was only available in the lobby, we were tripping over standard size poodles and German shepards In the lobby. That was a challenge not so rewarding after retrieving cold coffee. It all would have been funny, except for the small, cramped, over priced rooms, with NO amenities.
