“Experience Southern Charm in the Heart of the Historic District”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

This was my third visit to the Mulberry Inn and I plan to stay again, any time I am in Savannah. The accommodations are beautiful, and the room was very spacious. Staff is very friendly and courteous. You are within easy walking distance to a number of restaurants and establishments on the Riverwalk, which is just across the street,. Parking is also just on the other side of the Inn. Only potenially negative comment this time was that the room we stayed in fronted on Bay street and the traffic was busy on Monday morning during rush hour, and you could hear the traffic noise . This was the first time that I had noticed that, so it must have been where this particular room was located. Otherwise I would recommend this Inn without reservation.

“Superlative Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

The accommodation and people at this site are exemplary! From check-in to check-out, all staff were accessible, helpful and friendly. The location is on East Bay just away from the hubbub. The courtyard(s) is/are lovely southern oasis. Anything from extra linen to historical direction and excellent dinning recommendation is at your request. Thank you for our introduction to Savannah!

Room Tip: Requesting a room facing a courtyard or off the main street is a good idea.

“Barking Dogs, Noisey Street, Hour Late Check-in!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Dearest Travelers,

Let me sum up for you this stay in 4 key points:

1) Check in was supposed to be at 4pm, but our room (including 8 other travlers' rooms) were not ready until 5:15pm and after. Must be a hoax to get you to pay $9 for a drink at their bar while you wait - OH, unless you complain like a couple who did while also waiting, and so the manager comp their drink bill. I should have taken a picture of the lobby with all the couples waiting, lines longer than Disney World. No apologies. No "what can we do to make this right", no accountability. Lesson learned here folks is TO COMPLAIN instead of being a relaxed, understanding customer - because that'll get you nothing.

2) Dogs barking at all hours of the night because the manager/ employees are fearful of being called "not pet friendly" darest they ask the owners to quiet the howling hounds. I'm very supportive of being a pet friendly hotel, but keep stricter policies about noise, and/or house them at a seperate wing of the hotel.

3) If they give you room 161 or close to it - BEWARE! East Bay street apparently turns into the six lanes of NASCAR for semi-trucks at 2am and the walls are as thin as Kate Moss. You can also hear the walking-signal in the street, which counts down loudly from 10-1 everytime a pedestrian pushes it.

4) Parking is NOT free, it's $12/day - and since the employees are too busy scrambling to get your room ready (an hour after checkin), they must forget to tell you that. I understand most hotels in most cities charge, but it would have been nice to be informed, so that way we could have parked a few streets away for free.

Just some last notes to add salt to the wound - a major chip in the glass of my $9 martini. They were out of Kettle One Vodka at 5pm on New Years Eve-Eve. The shower head will not work for you if you are above 5'2'' tall. And they only provide 3 small, traveling-size, pillows for a King Bed.

The 1-star I have to give this hotel will go towards the location, but with 100's of hotels and B&B's in historic Savannah, do not waste your time, money, or patience on the Mulberry Inn.

“Anniversary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Very charming hotel! Very elegant with all the antiques and fireplace. The staff was all very nice and very helpful. It has a parking deck across street that is free if you are a priority club member which we were and we were glad we would have covered parking, but we did find that it was way overcrowded and if you did not get in early enough I don't really know where you would have parked. We managed to park at a corner where no one could hit us. We enjoyed breakfast there but it was a bit mismanaged. We stood in line to get in dining room before they opened the bar for us and then almost all the food was gone. I'm not sure if they replenished or not. The bar area was nice and we enjoyed coffee in the evening but they were out of a couple of liquors and the music/wine/cheese reception was over at 6:00 sharp. We got there at 3 minutes after. I hate that we missed this. It is a bit noisey if you stay on the Bay Street side but I will definitely stay here again just a different side of hotel. Excellent location. Can walk to everything!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the back side and not on the street side of Bay Street. Was a bit noisey

“Unique historic hotel, nice large rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

We booked our stay traveling north from Florida seeking a hotel with character in the historic district & were impressed with the beautiful lobby, spacious rooms and charming courtyard. A bar is always a nice plus after a long day driving.

The only (minor) glitch was that kids were supposed to "eat free" & we ate ate the little cafe-Sgt Jasper's--and there was no kids' menu to choose from, so no free items. Not a big deal as it wasn't very pricey & was charming.

Overall, great find & wish we had more time to explore!
