“Great Service and Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We had the pleasure of staying at The Marshall House for a long weekend and were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel and the area and provided great recommendations for food and shopping. The hotel was within walking distance of the river and a wide variety of great restaurants. We hardly had to use our car once we arrived. We booked a room with the balcony and absolutely enjoyed the ability to go out and sit on the balcony (highly recommend this if it is available). The room was plenty big enough and very clean. The wine and cheese reception was nice, but I wish the breakfast would have been a little better. The only hot items were quiche and biscuits. We would go back and highly recommend checking out the Marshall House if you are visiting Savannah.

Room Tip: The rooms with the balcony access are fantastic!

This was my first time in savannah and the Marshall House was a nice pick. The staff were above and beyond friendly. The accommodations as well as the public areas were very pretty . The hotel had very nice artwork all over .My only negative about hs hotel was that the a/c was very loud in our room and the dining room smell came into our room at night even though we were on the fourth floor.

We had to stay beyond our check-out time b/c our tour went longer than we expected. The lady at the front desk seemed put out, but we were not charged extra - which was a plus. We enjoyed the Wine & Cheese and of course our room was nice...

This was our first trip, of what I expect to many, to Savannah! We decided to book a classic king room at the Marshall House after reading reviews from tripadvisor and scoring a great deal booking online from their website. We stayed on the 4th floor, which was very quiet, as no one is above you. This hotel is full of charm with it's high ceilings, brick, and creaky wood floorboards. You really have to experience it to understand the beauty and history of this hotel. The staff were amazing... the epitome of southern hospitality! The breakfast was plentiful and very good by hotel standards. The location can't be beat! The Marshall House is just a couple/few blocks from anywhere you want to be! Savannah is definitely a walking/walkable city! There is a parking garage right behind the hotel, so I'd say save your time and money avoiding valet. This hotel is also very clean and housekeeping did an amazing job on fixing up our room on a daily basis! It looked like we had just checked in for the first time everytime we entered our room! The only complaints I have are that the mattresses need updating, as they were somewhat hard and uncomfortable. The water pressure in the shower isn't the best in the world, either, but it's kind of to be expected in such an historic, older establishment. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Savannah... maybe in one of the shared balcony rooms next time!

We stayed 2 nights at the Marshall House and it was wonderful. The rooms were immaculate and well-stocked, the location was central yet quiet. The breakfast was filling and the wine and cheese was a great start to the evening. What really set this hotel apart, however, was the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We will be recommending The Marshall House to others!

Room Tip: Petite queen rooms are small, but not too small, and a great value.

This was our first stay @ a bed and breakfast. And I have to say it has been lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything is so charming. I love that you go out of a window to get to the shared balcony. The view is nice. It was a nice breakfast with lots of choices, and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice touch. We will surely stay here again.

This property is beautiful, the service excellent. Ignore the tales of "creepy"...it has the old world elegance you would expect of an older property but all the charm and warmth you could ask for. The location is fabulous. My 10 year old daughter was treated with the same respect as any other patron. She now understands what a fine hotel should offer.

Room Tip: Stay in the King veranda's for a bonus location. It is lovely to sit outside and watch Savannah...
