We stayed at the Marshall House on Feb 21st. We enjoyed our visit very much and this should be a very good review. However, when we returned to our home, I discovered that our American Express card, which we used exclusively at the hotel during our visit to Savannah, was used
by some employee of the hotel to pay a $400 bill to Comcast of Savannah. Now, we don't live anywhere near Savannah and do not have any business with Comcast of Savannah. Moreover,
my wife called the hotel to advise them of this, and as of this posting, the hotel has still not returned our call!!!!

We recently stayed at The Marshall House with two other couples while visiting Savannah for the first time. What a delightful historic hotel, we stayed in a traditional King room on the third floor. Although the rooms are a little small, they have everything you may need and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast each morning in the atrium was lovely and the evening wine and cheese reception was a real treat. The location can't be beat-you are within walking distance of all the historical sites, the river front, city market and many great resaurants!

On February 25, 2013 my husband and I stayed at the Marshall House while visiting Savannah for the first time. We were impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the entire hotel staff and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Loaded with Southern charm and hospitality. Our room was spotless and our king size bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was in a lovely atrium and the food was excellent. Wine and cheese was served from 5:30 to 7PM - lovely way to start the evening. We will definitely visit Savannah again and enjoy all the amenities of the Marshall House.

Room Tip: We opted for the lowest price and had a lovely room. No view to talk about but we were told that in...

Just spent 3 nights in the Mary Marshall Suite. Great room, well appointed, lovely sitting area and great bed. Just a couple of cons, stand alone closet door doesn't open all the way and therefore drawers don't open. Peculiar set up for extra roll of tp on the wall in a basket. No fitness facilities. But truly, minor peeves. Really great location, friendly staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

My fiance' and I chose Marshall House because it is rumored to be a "haunted" hotel. Since we already had a ghost tour booked at Gribble House, we decided to make it a "ghostly" weekend. Despite the fact we did not encounter any supernatural activity, we very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, and we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. It was very convenient. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the kindness of the staff. We did not enjoy being near the elevator... "ding ding ding" all throughout the early morning, so we could not sleep past 7am. I also thought the bed was a bit too firm, and I certainly could've used an extra mirror so I wouldn't have had to share the small bathroom mirror with my fiance' while getting ready to go out. The wine and cheese reception was nice, but get there early! The wine went quickly! Breakfast was basic, but filling. I would absolutely stay at Marshall House again. The history of the hotel was intriguing. It definitely made for an interesting and lovely stay. Maybe next trip we will encounter the supernatural side of Marshall House!

Room Tip: If you can avoid getting a room near the elevator, you should, especially if you want to sleep later...

....I'm not a fan of bed and breakfasts in general. Marshall House is clean, updated and large enough to feel like a modern hotel BUT still the has historic character of a bed and breakfast (hardwood floors, original fixtures, etc.). The downside to all of that historic character is that the rooms are not sound proof. We booked a petite queen, which was located right next to the elevator and we could hear every single guest get on/off the elevator. We could even hear the person in the room above us blow his nose. However, we got a good deal on the room and were able to walk to all of the city's attractions, which was really nice. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would recommend the hotel for guests who are looking to explore the city on foot, but not for those who are looking to sleep in.

Room Tip: Petite queen rooms are a good deal, and very charming, BUT if the room is located close to the eleva...

We loved everything about our stay here- the character of the Hotel, the incredible service, the fabulous breakfast and the personality of the room and the bath.So exceeded our expectations
The only thing to be aware of is that the rooms are small due to the character of the old building- we knew that as we had read about that detail on Trip Advisor, so thanks.
If you are in Savannah and miss this beautiful hotel, you will miss a one of a kind experience.
Very friendly and helpful staff in every area of the hotel. I only wish we had been able to stay longer!!Should have bought the cookies though..

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on a higher floor as the floors, which have a lot of character, do sqeak-nice...
