DH and I decided on a trip south, which began with Savannah. I looked forward to staying at the Hamilton- Turner after seeing it listed in the Distinctive Inn registry, and reading the reviews on tripadvisor. Upon arrival, we were happy about the location in the midst of the historical district and I was over the moon about the buildings façade. It was more beautiful than the pictures can capture. When entering the inn, we were pleasantly greeted, shown about the inn, and taken to our room. We chose the Nathaniel Green suite. It was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The inn offers Gilcrest and Soames bath products, which were a nice touch. After nine hours on the road, we snuggled in for a much needed nap. Savannah is beautiful, historical, and delicious. Everything is walkable, or inexpensively accessed by taxi. The inn recommended Stay Adams for a taxi service, and I HIGHLY recommend him. He was truly a friend by the end of our trip. Breakfast the next morning was lovely in the dining area, with fresh, ripe fruit, granola, yogurt, and whatever the chef prepares for a hot meal. All three of our breakfasts were delicious and well balanced. The staff was more than helpful and accommodating. The inn has been recently acquired by new owners and innkeeper. We had the pleasure of meeting them, and fully expect the kind people to continue to keep the Hamilton Turner in it's present glory. Much recommended, and a return trip is a must.

Room Tip: Any, I am sure will be to most people's liking. We chose our room based on the décor, and king s...

We recently stayed at this inn for a weekend romantic getaway. We had looked at many bed and breakfasts in Savannah online and decided to spend a bit more for the Hamilton Turner. Our room was the Juliet Gordon Lowe room. The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The claw foot tub in the bathroom was beautiful, but a word of warning it can be a bit tricky to manage the shower curtain enclosure and tub was very slippery.
The inn is packed with history and is well maintained. We really loved the convenience of the inn to the historic district and river street. The parking is limited, but we did find street parking fairly easily even though it was over the 4th of July weekend.
The breakfasts were well presented and very tasty. We loved the baked pastry each morning, especially the blueberry cake! The wine in the afternoon was an added treat as well.
One additional piece of advice is that if you prefer a later breakfast time make sure to reserve it ahead if time, even before your arrival. The breakfast slots are on the half hour and we were surprised to learn that we would have to get up early on our Saturday morning to eat as the later slots were filled already upon our check-in.
Overall, we had a really nice time at this inn and would definitely consider returning for a future stay.

We arrived later than expected due to our own oversights but when we stepped to the door at 1 a.m. and they answered with a friendly face and very polite words to welcome us, we were in for the BEST service I have ever seen or have had anywhere !
All the staff went way above and beyond in every aspect including down right southern hospitality that no-one will ever surpass in our lifetime !
The new Owner/Manager named Susie was always busy serving breakfast and making sure our juice/coffee/and breakfast food were served in a timely fashion and never empty on refills !
I had brought my girlfriend to Savannah on her birthday and to propose as well as to experience her lifelong dream of visiting Savannah, and the Hamilton Turner Inn made it a lifetime experience and more for her and I both !
Our stay lasted from July 8th-12th and the Inn made reservations each night for us at our desired eatery and called our room to remind us about reservations...you don't get that at a 3-star B&B but only 5-star and higher !
They even booked a carriage ride pick up for our birthday dinner out.
We had planned a picnic lunch in St. Boneventure park one day and upon telling the young man at the desk our plans, he personally called many locations to see about a caterer for our plans which he found a great French Bistro who carried wonderful food items for us. The morning of the picnic at breakfast, Susie the owner/Manager who asked of our plans for the day, returned a few moments later with a picnic basket with plates, plastic ware to eat with,a tablecloth, some sconces from breakfast, 2 wine glasses and a very nice bottle of wine for our picnic !!!!
Now this is what I call incredible and far and above normal service !!!!
Susie we would like to thank you and your staff for THE BEST trip EVER !
Your Inn is 2nd to none !
The wine hours and tea hours along with the porter to finish the night are memories we will live to tell all we know and encourage anyone who visits to stay in your 10-star Inn !

Room Tip: We stayed in the Oglethorpe suite which is huge and very comfortable. Do not be afraid to think out...

First and not our last trip to Savannah. What an interesting city with great history and this Hotel/Inn reflects it in a charming way. As you have read from others parking is limited when we checked in the young man that greeted us at the door said he would go find us a spot on the street which was very quick then helped us in with all our bags, check in was fast and they served tea and sweets in the living room and went straight to calling around getting dinner reservations for us (make reservations before you come to Savannah if you have you heart set on a certain place they book up fast), so nice of him to do this. We had the green room (can't remember the name) on the second floor which overlooked square across the street, the room was large, nice four poster king bed, loads of storage and large bath. Ok the color, I would change it to a more calming neutral color and update the bedspreads ect., looks a little 80's but nice and kept up. This had been done to some of the other rooms but I loved looking over the square .Location was great, we walked everywhere and loved coming back to our lovely home in Savannah. Its is on the tour route, buses and horse drawn carriages go by and stop for a second to tell the history of the home. They are cautious not to let people in the house if they are not guests, if I where not staying here, I would have wanted to come in for a look around also. I found most all the B&B's had this policy, but you do want to just walk in the homes they are beautiful here.
Breakfast, you do have to give them a time, I'm sure it is to keep things moving. We loved ours and there is alot of it, great fun talking with the others guests. Antique tea pots, china, butter dishes nice touchs, dont stop doing that, I will expect it on our next trip.

Room Tip: Book the bigger rooms, worth the price differance. Second floor rooms seemed grander.

This inn is beautifully appointed and extremely well-located. The only negative for us was the shower! We stayed in the Thomas Charlton room on the first floor. Lovely until you try to shower: really a trickle. The staff kindly tried to "repair" the shower, but no luck. The inn-keeper was not helpful at all. Frankly, if we had been warned (I see another review mentions the plumbing) about the shower (maybe worse in this particular room), we would have chosen another inn. For the price and Select Registry status, we expected more.

Room Tip: Be careful about your room choice and ask for a good shower!
