“Perfect start to our honeymoon.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

The experience started before we even arrived; with any questions either the owners or GM would respond INSTANTLY to email. They made the start of our honeymoon absolutely magical. The breakfast was incredible (and changes day to day). The Oglethorpe suite was beautiful down to the furnishings and modern conveniences. The area is perfect as well. We will be back!!

My husband and I began our vacation by spending a weekend in this beautiful Inn. Gay and Jim were so delightful to visit with at breakfast. The food was delicious, the staff very happy to help with any of our questions or dinner reservations. I left my phone charger behind and had a call from Gay immediately upon them finding it - she put it in the mail to me so it was waiting at home for me. The staff and owners of this Inn go above and beyond for their guests. This will be the only place we stay when visiting Savannah!

First, let us start by saying that this is one of the best B & B/Historical Inn's that we have ever stayed in. Having stayed at several across the nation, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff was attentive, informative and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We had a late arrival, but they were still there to help bring in our luggage. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The decor in the room was very tasteful and they had provided every amenity you could imagine. The staff was more than happy to help arrange for flowers, champagne and strawberries in our room upon arrival.

The breakfast offerings changed daily, and were delightful. H'orderves were served each evening as well as several nice selections of wine. In addition to that, a late evening port offering was set out to be enjoyed. They also called the next day to ask if they could help with any dinner reservations.

The rooms were impeccably cleaned every morning after we left, and turndown service with a card with a nice message as well as the next days forecast along with a sweet treat was placed on our pillow. A great DVD selection was available downstairs at no extra charge if you want to watch a movie. They even offered beach towels if we were going to beach, and we were very happy to have those.

Jeremy, the general manager, was there each morning to serve breakfast. He was very nice and went out of his way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. You can tell that he really takes pride in running the Hamilton-Turner Inn, and he does a very fine job. On our last day (which was a Monday) he asked which car was ours outside and arranged to have coins put in the meter so that we did not get a ticket.

Overall, our stay was one of our favorites and we will definitely be back.

It was the breakfast, it was the location,it was the decor, the beautifully decorated room and comfortable bed, it was the attentive staff who always smiled and made me feel as though I was more than just another guest. There were several reasons why I will never stay at any place other than this Inn!

Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive, but also let us have our privacy. Great location, comfortable room. Loved the appetizers and drinks in the parlor every day. We highly recommend this Inn to anyone who plans to visit Savannah.

Room Tip: Isaiah Davenport room is in basement, but has nice private entrance--very convenient. If you need go...

We stayed here one night. My husband and I were in a suite and our 2 teenage children were in a regular room. Both were very nice. It was expensive, but worth it. We had never been to Savannah before and the staff were very helpful in pointing out things to do. Location was great. We walked to everything we wanted to see. Only thing I would change is the breakfast. It was good, but seating is by reservation and you are at your own table. I prefer the communal seating of other inns and B&B's we have been too, but that's just me. Overall, this is a nice inn that I would recommend to friends.

This bed and breakfast is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I loved the wine at 530 because it really brought the hotel guests out of their rooms so we could visit with some of the guests.

The breakfasts and appetizers weren't phenomenal, they were eatable and complete, but not like mommas cooking. The service desk was knowledgable and helpful, but didnt follow through on helping us make a reservation to let us know they had confirmed the appointment for a carriage tour. They didn't communicate with one another about the plans when they switched jobs so we had to find the other worker instead of talking to the service desk attendee. We also went in to breakfast at our specified time and the breakfast host asked us in a very agitated voice to go sit in the living area that our table wasn't ready. It was our first morning so we weren't aware of the way things worked. The bathroom ceiling looked as though there was a leak and the wallpaper was peeling back and bubbling above the shower area.

There was a very helpful lady at the front desk, though. And a very bubbly energetic man that showed us around our first day. We also really enjoyed the cleaning service that was very thorough and quick and the turndown service in the evening with cookies in our pillows.

My husband and I overall enjoyed our stay, however, in the future we may try a different b and b with more consistant attention to details.
