As a return visitor to Savannah, we had a previous pleasant experience here. This trip, we came back hoping for the same. The food quality was still okay, but nothing more. The food value was just plain criminal. The price of the seafood platter was $24, with the waitress stating that two could be happy with one dish. While we didn't do that route, ones in our party of seven did. The waitress was wrong. The food was more than sufficient for one, but nowhere near enough for two, as I figured it would not be. The cost of the food compared to the value of the meal was terrible. My bill for three people was $90, and probably had no more than $15 worth of food total. Most restaurants charge an automatic 15 percent tip on tables of 8 or more, but here it appears to be 6. The service was good, and I had no problem tipping, but if my wife hadn't caught it, I would have tipped 30 percent because of this. While our party was seven, it was three separate checks. Each got charged the group tip rate. With competing businesses on River Street, this one probably won't be on the next vacation.
