Leopolds was on our list as a must for our trip to Savannah. When our tour trolley drove near it during the day and we saw the long line, we thought twice about it. No ice cream is worth a long, long line. After a long day going to Bonaventure Cemetery, Wormsloe Plantation, the fort and eating dinner at the beach on Tybee Island, we arrived back in Savannah around 9 pm. Lo and behold Leopold's did not have a long line and it was open. There were still about 10 to 15 people in line, but the line goes quite fast. At that time in the evening we were even able to get a table inside. I am so glad we went. The hot fudge and ice cream was excellent. I fell in love with one of their early, favorite flavors- rum bisque. It is awesome with hot fudge. I am only sad that I will probably not find that flavor anywhere else! Being from California, it will be a while before I make it back to Savannah. If I do, Leopold's is on my list of musts!

Sounds like you had a wonderful tour of Savannah! Thanks for stopping in to have some ice cream. Though I am a fan of your strategic approach, the lines, even when long, move very quickly thanks to our dedicated staff of soda jerks. If you aren't a fan of our Facebook page, you should like us ASAP. We'll be making an announcement soon that's sure to make you smile. Thanks again for the nice review!
