My wife and I went to Molly MacPhersons based on the reviews on this site and the fact that it was something new (we had never eaten Scotch food). Man were we blown away! They had a HUGE selection of great beer as well as Scotch (although we didn't partake in the later). My wife also had an exquisite Reisling that was smooth and fruity!
We started with the appetizer combo but substituted scones for the onion rings (although we heard they were really good, this was supposed to be a romantic getaway!). Man was that Scotch Egg good! My wife hates boiled eggs but she absolutely loved it! The gravy on the shepherds pie was awesome as well.
For dinner I had the crusted salmon and my wife had the pork loin. Boy oh boy! The pork loin came with tatties and neeps with a vodka pear sauce. The juice from the pork added to the already explosive flavor of the neeps and tatties (turnips and taters) and was almost impossible to resist. The salmon was cooked perfectly and served with a light sauce and two scones. I almost couldn't quit eating the potato scones they were so good.
We had hoped to save room for dessert, but after all that we were absolutely stuffed! We generously tipped the waitress and headed out for a night on the town!
