“Perfect hotel for a Girl Scout Troop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Girl Scout Troop Leaders - this is a perfect hotel.

The suites sleep 6 people (2 Queen beds & a double sleeper), rates are very reasonable/budget-friendly and allow girls to socialize while meeting your adult/girl ratios. They will also do their best to book your rooms on the same floor or next to each other.

Breakfast was great. I had read about the waffle iron and this was a hit with the girls. The only drawback is that it's so popular you may have to wait in line to make one. There are several other choices on the menu as well.

The area is safe and though not very central to the historic district, everything is within walking distance. You just need to plan your activities ahead and you'll be fine. We didn't need our cars for anything except our visit to Bonaventure Cemetery.

My room was very small (602) and although I made my reservation as HHonors Diamond member, no upgrade or premier room was offered. Room had poor layout. For example lights could not be turnoff from bed, the desk had no light, and pillows were smaller than normal. Location is good.

Our experience began BEFORE we even arrived. After reserving our room online I received an email from their sales department stating if we had any questions feel free to call. I emailed back asking for a recommendation for our Anniversary dinner while there. They took the time to call me back and make suggestions which helped immensely. When we arrived we were greeted by Robin, who was the happiest and nicest person working in a hotel I have met in a long time. She welcomed us made us laugh and that was just the start of our perfect weekend. The room was clean and comfy. Great size for the 2 of us and the AC worked great, not one of those "on & off" all night models. We never ate the breakfast but it must not have been bad as it was packed every morning. The guys who worked the Valet Parking were absolutely great. It was a short walk to ALL Savannah has to offer! We will stay again when we go back. Maybe we will be lucky enough to have Robin great us again!!!

Room Tip: We were on the 2nd floor I would go up one more level if a little road noise bothers you.

This is the Hampton not on the river. Very nice room and free breakfast buffet. Wifi was easy to use, Staff very helpful, especially Sam, who turned out to be a Eagles fan. Help get tour trolley to pick us up the hotel. Not in historic district, but close enoght to walk. Near the City Market.

We used Hilton Honors points for our stay in Savannah. I thought the hotel was very nice and clean but was not that impressed with the location. We were warned by locals not to walk east of MLK boulevard. It is about a mile's walk to River St and less to City Market; which we enjoyed. The hotel rooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. I liked the fact that three different types of pillows were offered on the beds. Warm cookies were offered in the lobby when we returned from our day of exploring; they were delicious. A delicious full breakfast (hot and cold entrees) is offered every morning from 6a-10a. It was difficult to get a table in the dining area when we visited, but there was a wedding at the hotel. The concierge was helpful with directions. There is a $15 per night parking fee. The guys who worked the valet parking were outstanding; they were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from a 5 night visit to Savannah and was really impressed with our hotel. Spacious king with comfortable bed and ample seating, good selection of food for breakfast which is included in room rate, friendly and helpful staff and great location for walking to all the squares, restaurants, River Street and Visitors Centre.
Upon arriving at Savannah airport, our pre-booked van from Coastal Regional Coaches was awaiting us and the fare is only $3.00 per senior One Way. Please have exact change. They provide this service Monday to Friday inclusive 6:00 am to 6:00 pm 1-866-543-6744

Chatham Area Transit(CAT) offers service to and from airport for .75 cents per senior one way, and $1.50 I think for adults. Their schedule did not meet our requirements for arrival and departure times. 1-912-233-5767

Hope this helps you when you plan your trip to Savannah

Because there is no restaurant onsite. only a large breakfast room, I did not give any ratings for restaurant below.

We thought we had booked into the other Hampton Inn on Bay Street; but after staying at this one on MLK, we were very happy with our choice. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. The included hot breakfast buffet was amazing and really saved us a lot of money. Valet parking fees seem to be the norm in the historic district of Savannah, but this Hampton Inn was $5.00 less than it would have been at the Bay Street location. The Inn & Suites is just a couple of blocks from the Visitor's Center, where we could park on the day of our late departure. We walked everywhere and found that being several blocks south of the river made everything more accessible on foot.

Room Tip: We had a room at the front on the 4th floor, and it was quiet enough for sleeping late even with rus...
