“Armstrong Carriage House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011

What a wonderful time we had staying in the Carriage House. We were welcomed with a great bottle of wine and cheese, with lots of goodies for breakfast.
We have stayed at several b&b's and staying with Monique and William's Armstrong Inn was by far the best. Monique and her staff meet all of our needs and even helped with tours and restaurant recommendations.

We've stayed in several B&B's but Armstong Inns is by far the best. Monique greeted us warmly even with our late arrival. We stayed in the Tattnall house which is beautiful, extemely private and blocks from all Savannah offers. The fruits and cheeses awaiting us when we arrived were just what we needed after a day of traveling. We enjoyed the pastries and cakes the staff brought each morning. We will be going back (soon hopefully) and will be encouraging any of our friends going to Savannah to stay at the Armstrong Inns. Monique and her staff truely added to our enjoyment of Savannh.

Room Tip: The Tattnall is very private and close to everything. No complaints at all.

We enjoyed out stay at the Carriage House. The feather bed was so cozy, the linens were luxurious, the courtyard was lovely, and the pastries were awesome! Thank you!

I have to say that this is by far one of the best B&B’s that my husband and I have stayed in, ever! Definitely the best we’ve stayed in here in the States. We took a three night trip to Savannah for our anniversary and booked the Carriage House. That was the best travel decision! Monique and her staff not only prepared an excellent place to stay, they thought of everything! There were many choices of bread, cereal, fruit, juices, drinks and accompaniments for breakfast each morning. Like something more than the others? No problem. Monique was thoughtful enough to ask what we liked and was sure to stock plenty of what we preferred. It was awesome how it was all in the room too, so that we didn’t have to get up and go to breakfast at a set time. And yes, like the other reviews, be prepared to have a hard time getting out of the bed. I was skeptical at first, that a bed would be that comfy, but it is. If you’re allergic to feathers, though (like me), bring a pillow and extra blanket (I did, and it was not a problem). The weather wasn’t optimum this trip, but we totally didn’t mind, because it was so nice to be able to relax in such a nice environment. We took long walks when the weather permitted, and relaxed the rest of the time, which was just what we needed (and a rarity, because I have a hard time not being on-the-go, so that is a testament to how nice the place was). The room was full of amenities: a tv and dvd player plus cable both upstairs and down; a nice little sitting area, plenty of space upstairs; candles for ambience, should you choose; extra towels that were super nice (I’d really like a set for my house); snacks; sherry (the best! Warms you up nicely after a cold, wet day); complete kitchen; the list goes on. The best way to sum it up is to say that after our last night, we didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Merci beaucoup, Monique!

Room Tip: If you want a little extra privacy, get the Carriage House, as it's detached and has a separate...

A cozy little bit if history. Everything that you could possibility need at your finger tips. Staff added the personal touch with fruits, cheeses and even some chocolate cake. :-)
Great location for added convenience.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Monique. She helped us plan our way around Savannah. Guided us to a perfect place to eat the first night after a long day of travel--the Crystal Beer Parlor-- great burger and atmosphere. The Inn was perfect with all attention to details. The bed so comfortable you did not want to leave. All the breakfast items were perfect to start out with in the Am. After a day of exploring and walking what an inviting place to come home to. We really enjoyed the outdoor balcony to relax and have wine and cheese before deciding on supper. Everything was restocked daily and the cakes and cookies were to die for. What a wonderful week and would strongly recommend .

What a wonderful, all around welcoming stay. The Inn is actually a well appointed residence owned and managed by Monique Armstrong. She has impeccable taste and is so attentive to the needs of the guests. We stayed in the Garden Suite directly off Chatham Square. The location was great - walking distance to everything. We arrived late in the evening Friday and Monique was so gracious. She provided us witsoakot of information, gave us a tour of the property and explained all the amenities; bottle of wine, sherry, crackers, cheese, breads, spreads and homemade cakes (to mention just a few!). The art work decorating the property is wonderful; painted by Monique's husband, William. The bed is luxurious and there is a private garden in the rear. Each day we were instructed to call the office to alert them we were leaving and detail any items we needed replenished (juices, milk, cream, bread, etc). The staff was great and overall this was an extraordinary stay. The bathroom has just been renovated as well and the result is fabulous. Anyone staying here would not be disappointed. It's a home away from home. My husband and I immediately felt like residents of Savannah.

Room Tip: The garden suite is perfect for couples - very romantic!
