We just returned from our anniversary trip with 3 nights at this B&B. It was very nice! We stayed in the Jasmine room, which is in an 1853 row house with charming touches such as original hardwood floors, 2 fireplaces, built-in bookcases, and nice oil paintings and furniture. The suite is 1000 square feet - very large and open, with a sitting room, dining room and kitchenette, and a nice bedroom with a very large closet & private bath in the back of the suite.

This was a ton of nice space for the money - we got the room on a $99/ night special!

Breakfast was always great, with something different to choose from every day. The staff were all very friendly.

The only minor negative things I have to say are that sometimes it was a bit noisy outside (I think there were some loud people staying in the same building), and the bathroom had a little mildew stain problem on the floor and needed some updating.

Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay, and we definitely recommend this place!

We stayed here for two nights in May of 2005 and loved it. We had the Parkview room, which is on the top floor, but as we live on the 3rd floor at home, this was no problem at all. The room was beautiful, the bathroom great and rather roomy, and the breakfasts were fantastic. They also serve afternoon (iced) tea. The TV was very small, but then again, we weren't in Savannah to watch TV. The price is pretty much unbeatable for the area (just north of Forsythe Park) and the quality, and I would definitely stay there again on any future trips. (Please don't raise the price soon!) I would recommend this place to anyone except those who have trouble negotiating stairs, as you have to go up a short flight just to get in the front door.

A girlfriend and I stayed at the B&B Inn on a nice 4-day weekend off. We enjoyed many parts of it and hated others. We actually had 2 different rooms, so I can tell you about both:
Pros:
Very Helpful, cheerful staff, both at check in and for reservations, etc.
clean, interesting, historic rooms, each with a nice theme
yummy breakfast (better on the weekends), lovely tea served daily
can't get closer to the Mercer House (which now gives tours)
walking distance to River Street and Jones Street, but still quiet
less expensive than others

Cons:
absolutely outrageously old beds. I can't believe they provided them in 21st century. I've slept on better "cots" at summer camps in the 80s. The mattresses were literally from the 60s with matress ticking and little rope ties. Beds in Oriental were the worst, a little better in the Live Oak Suite.
Bathroom in Live Oak needed updating, was acceptable in Oriental.
Also, don't stay here if you can't lug your luggage up flights of stairs - every room would require at least one flight to get to it.

By the way the Live Oak suite would be very romantic, private and luxurious for a couple. We were so impressed with it - a dining room, a family room, and a master bedroom. It also has a small kitchen with a fridge for your leftovers from the great restaurants!

We stayed without a car, but did rent one for a day from Enterprise Rent a Car (they pick you up) to go to the TYBEE beach - where we had a lovely time. Especially enjoyed the crab shack on the way there.

I would reccommend this hotel, but not to stay in for a long period, the beds will eventually wear you down! :) Enjoy Savannah!

We really like it. We stayed only one night on our way home from Miami, and paid only $99 b/c it was on a Monday night (it was a special)
So first of all, it was a good price. Good location, right around the corner from the historic Mercer House.
We stayed in the Jasmine Room, it was really pretty. Bit of a walk to get to it, we had to go through the main living room/dining room, outside and through the courtyard part, but that was nice in that you didn't really have anyone walking by your room.
This room was great because the bathroom is the most recently renovated and really nice. Very spacious. It was hot and humid when we first got there, and we were in time for some delicious pecan squares (home made) and some refreshing raspberry iced tea. Then we made the walk to the river front. It is a pretty good walk, but very doable, and very relaxing.
All in all, very good value. I would recommend it, and would definetely stay again.

Going to Savannah? This little B&B on 117 West Gordon St. is in the heart of the quaint historic district. Rooms are immaculate, breakfast is lovely and the atmosphere puts you right in the mood to explore the history and charm of the town!

We stayed 5 nights and had to upgrade our room to holiday weekend travelers. Our original "low budget" room was just as nice as the upgrade which was $90 more!

Really a great experience and we'd go back in a flash!
Quiet, quaint and quick getting around!
