“Great location for the tourist in Savannah”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

We stayed here one night and two in a bed and breakfast. The stay here was as wonderful as that in the bed and breakfast, which surprised me. The location is superb for Old Town Savannah. Rather than eat in the hotel we took a little walk to River Street and had breakfast while enjoying the view of the Savannah River. The room was well decorated, the window views were wonderful, and the staff was very professional. The bed was very comfortable too. What more could you ask?

This hotel is in a good location in historic Savannah, and has a nice staff, and pleasant rooms with high ceilings. But you’re out of luck if you want a good night's sleep when your room faces West Bay Street. Sirens, trucks, motorcycles – they all sound like they’re in the room with you. The staff moved us to a different room for our second night, which was great.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing W. Bay Street.

Spent the long St. Patrick's Day weekend in Savannah this year and this hotel was pretty much perfect for our needs. The location is central and in easy walking distance of the entire historic district and riverfront. The room was well equipped to serve all of our needs. The staff was engaged to our needs and consistently friendly. The only negative was the (unadvertised) $25 per day to valet park (no hotel self park option), which also required a lot of patience to navigate due to the restricted space layout of the entrance and exit. Considering the craziness of St. Paddy's weekend in Savannah, this property and it's staff was excellent and I wholeheartedly recommend it for a great tourist adventure in Savannah!

Room Tip: East side rooms have a view of the riverfront, west side rooms of the City Market area.

We called ahead looking for a nice place with a good rate for the 3 of us, it was raining and we had driven over 12 hours. I talked with Pat the hotel manager and he fixed us up really nice, gave us breakfast and parking. He had a great personallity and put up with me, they call me Grummpy lots. He was great, the service and rooms were great and breakfast was wonderful. I would enjoy staying at any hotel Pat managed. Try it out.

Room Tip: Ask for what you want, we wanted a view, and wonderful beds and we got it all

The location of the Hilton Garden Hotel is right in front of the City Market Place in Savannah. It is perfect for walking around the river front district as well as the parks and gardens around the city. We enjoyed walking from square to square and taking in the sites.
The hotel was very clean and accomodating. We had a jacuzzi in our King sized room and it was great to be able to access this clean tub from the comfort of our own room.
House keeping did a great job with replenishing towels, ammentities, etc. The bathroom sink when filled with water didn't drain promptly but once reported, it was attended to and fixed. We had no complaints and would stay again.

I recently stayed at this location for one night. The hotel is a little outdated decor, the staff is pleasant but has no knowledge of the town and things to do for families. Was told that the happy hour was being held at the hotel across the street, we went and sat at the bar for ten minutes and never had the chance to order anything since there was no bartender. I also have a daughter with severe food allergies, we proceeded to check out and I went to the concierge. BIG MISTAKE...let's start she did not answer my good morning. Bitter old lady trying to help people in the morning not a good thing. I asked do you know of any allergy friendly restaurants in the area for breakfast. She just stared and said what do you mean, they are all friendly. I tried to explain my daughter's problem since she is gluten intolorent and dairy (no eggs also). She proceeded to say well then what does she eat (with an attitude). At that point I was not happy, I was like nevermind since this seems like a bother to you and I don't appreciate the tone. This lady then was like well I just don't understand, I have a child with allergies which affect her health and coming across someone unsensative to someones health is disappointing. She proceeded to call Goose feather and all I asked was for her to ask if they have gluten free granola. She rolled her eyes and I walked away becuase at that point I was not in a nice place anymore. Very awful experience in all, would never visit Savannah Ga. The people in general are bitter and just upset at the world. We are timeshare holders with Hilton we will sending a letter to corporate since I find it very important to be considerate to peoples needs especially if its their health.

Dear Guest,

We are deeply sorry you were offended by any remarks that our Concierge may have made regarding your child’s allergies. Knowing the characters of our Concierge staff, I’m sure no harm was meant but was the result of misjudged humor. We will assess the situation with our staff to ensure we are providing the up most in customer service to our guests. I also apologize you found Savannah an unwelcoming city. We’re known for our hospitality and have received many awards from national publications recognizing our charming character. We do hope you will come back for a another visit and give Savannah a second chance.

Sincerely,
Danielle Valenchis

Just returned home after a 3-day stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. Lovely hotel. Everyone from the front desk, valet parking and house services was friendly and helpful. The suite was what we had hoped for, and tastefully appointed. The gym was fine, as was the buffet breakfast that we had. The outdoor pool area is more spacious than pictures would indicate, and the jacuzzi was an added bonus. Both the pool and jacuzzi was open until 11 pm.
