Most really nice restaurants in Savannah require a reservation. The first night my husband and I arrived we did not have time to make a reservation. Within waking distance of our hotel was City Market. Our concern was of course too many tourist places and no quality food to be found. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Belford's not only sat us quickly, offered a charming ambiance and served great food as well. Do try their clam chowder, in addition to the shrimp and grits dish which was unique and delicious.
