“Beyond fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

My first visit to this historical but wilted lady delivered fabulous cuisine, fresh flowers, masterful wait staff and culinary delights. I could end here but meeting the proprietor was humbling. Despite a long rein as a top Georgia restaurant, Gary was bustling about filling water glasses and speaking to the patrons. He has the rare capacity to connect with kings and bricklayers. His humanitarian work left me inspired. If you visit Savannah you must include a visit to Elizabeth on 37th. Imaginative southern food.

“Fabulous Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

My wife and I have eaten at Elizabeth several times, and every time, it has been a fantastic experience. Last week, I had the Gullah Fried Rice with Crab, and it was spectacular - simply one of the most delicious dishes I have ever eaten. My wife had the scallops, and they were also delicious. One of the highlights, surprisingly, was the fresh vegetables - they may have been the best ever. We eat at Elizabeth every time we visit Savannah, and it has become one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. The food is always superior, the service is friendly, prompt, and helpful, and the old house makes the entire experience delightful. We can, and do, recommend Elizabeth on 37th enthusiastically and unconditionally.

“Delicious Sea Bass in busy, dark dining room atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013 via mobile

The rotting wooden soffit over the front porch entrance and the dire need for exterior repainting belies the excellent food within. The watermelon salad was excellent and foretold the excellent sauteed Sea Bass, sides: a medley of juli-enned mixed vegetables and a seasoned mound of brown rice. A generous portion of each for $34.00. The darkened (less than adequate lighting) dining rooms were crowded with locals and tourists indicating a good local reputation but the atmosphere was a turnoff for me. As I go to a restaurant for the food, I still enjoyed it. Warning: entrees are $28 for a vegetable plate to $44 for the filet. Salad and above sides were included. Service was attentive, speedy and excellent. We had dessert at Leopold's Ice Cream Parlor and not at Elizabeth's as I was a guest of my dinner partners.

“Savannah's most expensive restaurant - but well worth it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We had an excellent meal here on May 28, 2013. This restaurant is a bit old school, which makes it a great place for a romantic dinner out. We allegedly had the Seven Course Chef's Tasting Menu ($90), but the portions seemed full size to us. See four of the courses pictured below. (Only the dessert was a shared course.) There is no official wine pairing with the tasting menu, but they will create one if you ask. (Ours was $35) We enjoyed all of the wine selections. Even the wine pours were larger than expected for a tasting, so we left very full and very happy. Since this restaurant is a bit outside of the historic district, it is worth taking a cab. If you do the wine pairing, you will be in no shape to drive or walk. For super foodies, the selections are not as innovative as you will find at newer trendy restaurants, but for most people you will have a delicious and memorable dinner experience.

“Beyond my expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

This restaurant also came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The food and service were extraordinary. They take low country cooking to a whole other level. Best fine dining experience on this trip.
