“Dirty, not worth saving a few dollars, management does not care”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2011

We thought we would save a few dollars by staying here are rate was $58. We were visiting Armstrong Atlantic State University and this hotel is near the campus. It was absolutely not worth it. I do not know where to begin to tell the nastiness of this hotel. The sheets were covered with hair. Unfortunately, we did not arrive until 1 a.m. and went straight to bed and did not see the filth until we woke up. The bathtub is full of mold and hair; everything is just dirty. I actually read the reviews on here and against my better judgment believed the management in these reviews. I can obviously see now that they do not care about the cleanliness of this motel. I am surprised there is no type of health department that shuts them down.

Hotel would have been fine if things had worked. toilet didnt flush, vending, internet, juice machine & hot tub out of order. Bathtub dirty/moldy and hairs in tub. Free breakfast consisted of a small basket with a few mini muffins, mini bagels (tasted weird) and bread. Cream cheese not on ice. A jar of peanut butter & butter everyone dug into and a waffle maker. Lobby looks nice everything else run down and at the top of the stairs is a storage room full of junk that was left open the whole time we were there, which unfortunately was 2 days because we had already paid because the lobby looked nice. We went someplace else for breakfast the 2nd day. Funny they dont allow pets but one of the employees locked her poodle in the breakfast room and in the office. we saw and heard it. People were nice. This place has potential. It just seems like they dont have the money to take care of it. Luckly there are at least 20 hotels at this exit choose a better one!!!

The hotel was exactly what u paid for. It was not the best but it was not the worst. I traveled to Savannah to meet up with a friend and it was a good spot to stay the night.

This is a quiet hotel, located right off of Abercorn St. It is good for the value, cleansiness was ok could have been shown a little more care. Big downfall, NO MICROWAVE in the room. The bed was soft and comfortable, sheets , bed spread and towels were clean. Its a good place to stay if you wanna get a room for the nite and have privacy with someone but not for someone looking for luxury surroundings.

We arrived at our reserved hotel on October 16, 2008, after 6 hrs on the road. Found the room to be unsatisfactory and went looking for another room. We ended up at Gateway Savannah (a Clarion hotel) and found the staff to be friendly, courteous and with a great sense of humor! They let us look at a room before we actually paid for it, which was a definite plus. Diego and Shirley were on duty the afternoon/evening we checked in. Shirley called sometime after our check in to ask if we needed anything and if the room was satisfactory. Everyone we encoutered was excellent. The room was just what we were looking for and at an affordable price. If all the Clarion properties are comparable to this one, we will stay Clarion anytime we travel.

If you travel to Savannah, don't buy the line you've got to stay near the historic downtown area. And DON'T stay at the Gateway Inn on 11520 Abercorn (Hwy 204) near the shopping malls.

Bad points: Shower head broken, didn't stay up; no one there to fix it. No towel rack and no toilet paper holder - both broken. Hair in the sink and tub, and lots more on the floor. Walls had rusty patches from previous repairs. Bath tub / shower stall dirty and scummy. The floors / carpets were dirty as evidenced by the dirt on my socks after walking just a few trips to the car and back unloading...

Good points: Easy access to the main drag for a fast escape!

This was supposed to a non-smoking room, but it stunk like a dingy bar. It was also supposed to have a small fridge. No dice. It was also supposed to have a pool. Oh, they had an outdoor pool, but it wouldn't be available for at least another month! (I guess I should have specified a working, usable pool).

I was sold a piece of junk, and I hope to be reimbursed for the bill of lies I was sold...

This trip was pre-arranged thru Hotels and I was locked into staying at least 1 night. I recommend getting an "Out Clause" if you're sold a nightmare. Not sure if Hotels offers such a clause... :( -tc
