“Clean and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights in early April. While two or three blocks out from the historic district proper and on a busy part of East Bay street, Comfort Suites exceded my expectations. The staff is friendly and check in was a breeze. Extra blankets and pillow were provided for the sofa bed within minutes of my request and rooms appeared recently renovated.Breakfast was substancial with sausage, eggs fruit, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, and juice.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights because it was so much less expensive than some others and they only charged $60 extra for our little dog to stay. Everyone was very nice and the rooms were quite large and decent for the price. There is some construction from a building behind it but we didn't hear anything inside. One problem is that we were at the end of the hall near the door and a noisy group kept going in and out all night to smoke- at 3 am they slammed the outside door to go smoke and drink beers and chat loudly. So that disturbed us but when we mentioned it to the desk they said multiple people had complained about the group and they were checking out the next day which they did. Breakfast was typical make your own waffles, bagels, cereal, etc. in a tiny dining room so we got ours and took it back to our room. Also because it was so weird that 5 or 6 grown adults were walking around the dining area in pajamas and bare feet! I can understand kids and it was casual but put some shoes on at least! The $5 a night for parking was much less than other hotels we checked but make sure to ask about the free shuttle to drop you off and pick you up downtown becase parking is hard to find near the river and the area on the street near the motel is maybe dicey after dark!

Room Tip: Dogs were only allowed on the ground floor which was fine but we were put by the back door which was...

I travelled with a group of high school band students, and found the hotel and the staff to be simply amazing. The location is several blocks (about a five minute walk) from the historic district. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with an extra seating area/pull out bed. But it was the service that sold me. Every staff members was so helpful, and they didn't seem flustered by the multiple student groups there at the same time. They even made us lemonade to have with our delivery pizza one night when we were in a rush to eat and get to our competition venue. There is currently construction going on at a site adjacent to the hotel - but only during the day, and it didn't bother us at all - even with the student groups the hotel was quiet at night.

One of the worst trips ever!!!! The room was 3 blocks to far away and right next to a construction site so don't plan on getting any rest!!! The air was broken but no one would come to my room and check because the " master electrician " wasn't there. The manager Ron was a rude lazy joke ... He wouldn't walk up to room with me to check air. I was told someone would call me 3 days later and shocker I had to track them down and call corporate all for them to do nothing but send me a voucher for 30$ to use at there hotel but it would take 5 -6 weeks !! My advice is to stay at a hilton

We stayed at the Comfort Suites the day after St. Pats day. After reading some prior reviews we were concerned, since the hotel was close to full, that we might get stuck in an un-refurbished room (see dbs853003's review). When we checked in at 2:30 no rooms were available because they were still cleaning. We got one of the refurbished rooms and were pleased with it. It was clean and roomy. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We decided to stay a second night and got the same rate, which was $40 or so cheaper than other area hotels. You are a short walk from the historic district but that was ok for us. There is a shuttle. There is a $5 charge for parking but being forewarned by other reviewers we accepted that. The "free" breakfast was nothing special, but we have learned not to expect much from any of the chains that provide them. Besides, you have a tendency to eat too much when traveling anyways. The only criticism I had was that the hotel manager should instruct staff to do a through cleaning of each room once in a while. I found some raisins under the sofa and some dirt in the edges of the tub surround both of which a good cleaning once in a while would catch.

This hotel way way below my expectations. The bathroom was really old and dated. The sheets has holes in them. I expect wayyyyy more when paying 200 dollars a night for a room. The hotel is in a nice location though.

We visited Savannah for our very first time. It happened to be their coldest days in many years. We had a great time and will definitely be going back. This hotel was very neat, clean, updated, friendly; we actually were able to be the first guests on the new linens in the newly appointed room. They offer complimentary shuttle service anywhere in the historic district so that was much appreciated seeing the temps were in the 28-30 degree range. Desk clerk Donna was very nice. Since Savannah is a walking city, the location is a good one even though it is on the outer fringe of the district.

Room Tip: Our room was the second floor directly over the reception desk and near the elevator. I wondered if...
