“Great place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Got a great deal on the cost. We were there for 6 nights. The room was awesome. Seperate sleeping from living area. Very clean and the bed was my husdands delite. The breakfast was fantastic and very plentiful with a large selection to choose from. The whole staff was friendly and very informative of the sites. A tour bus will pick you up twice daily and return you to the inn at no extra charge, so going downtown was a breeze. Our hats off to Maggie, our favorite desk clerk. She's a character. Definitely will be returning every time we go to Savannah!! Thanks OIS, we had a great time!

Room Tip: 2nd floor over looks the dining, relaxing area.

We booked a regular king room and had mentioned we were coming for our anniversary. So when we arrived and checked in, the lady at the desk upgraded us to their king suite. It was very roomy. The linens were nice but the bed was a little rough. The ceiling fan in the living area wouldn't seem to work either. But there was a dining room table and a microwave and small fridge. It suited our needs. We were very happy and would come back again.

My wife and I were helping our daughter and son-in-law relocate from Warsaw, IN to Savannah. We were a little tardy in making reservations and I stumbled across this inn on Trip Advisor. I called to make reservations and the price she quoted me was more than what the website advertised and she made us a good deal. For the price this inn exceeded all of our expectations. The room was clean, well decorated, the bed was very comfortable. All of the amenities were excellent and the staff was very attentive. We will not stay anyplace else when we return.

Bad first impression, but moved to a different room and it was like a different hotel. After that, we had a very nice stay. Loved the courtyard, the water fountain was very relaxing while enjoying breakfast.

Room Tip: Room 116 wasn't clean, def call and request not to have this room. Our 3rd floor room was extr...

My husband and I were in Savannah for a couple of days and originally we had wanted to stay in the historic district but we decided to save some money and give the Oglethorpe Inn and Suites a try. We were a late check in and the lady at the front desk was not very helpful. We asked where the pool was located and her response was "its over there". Wow, we didn't know where over there was. We found our room and it was good. This is not a 5 star hotel and we weren't expecting one so we were pleased with our room especially considering we were paying less than $200 for a 2 night stay over Memorial Day weekend. We had a king bed, couch, chair, desk, fridge, and microwave. The day staff was a lot more friendly and helpful than the lady the night before had been. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and were given directions to the historic district. Later when coming back to the Oglethorpe, we asked about juice but the machine had already been shut off. The nice lady turned it back on for us and told us to help ourselves. We were told exactly where the pool was and enjoyed a nice swim just the two of us. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Most of the staff was great and the property is nice. It is conveniently located and is maybe 5-10 minutes from the historic district.

Second time I have stayed here. It is cute, clean and in a great location. It is a relaxing peaceful place. This time I brought my family! We don't want to leave! We enjoyed the trolley while we were here too. We really enjoyed the size of the rooms here and the great value! The pool is great and has a safety rope so it is kid friendly. Best place we have stayed as a family! Beautiful setting and nice location.

We arrived about 1 o'clock and when we tried to check in at the front desk, the staff member was quite rude and didn't even bother to get up from her chair to greet us. We were informed that check in was not until 3 and then basically ignored. There was no offer to take our information or hold our bags for us until check in time. The room was a good size but everything (minus the new bedding) felt old and out of date/slightly dirty. The mini fridge was underneath the sink in a cabinet that looked handmade and the cabinet floor under the fridge was lopsided and the cabinet door barely closed. The bathroom was very old and some of the grout was not quite as clean as you'd expect. Bed was comfy and the AC worked well though. The free breakfast and free parking is nice, but we arrived at breakfast about 15 minutes before they closed and it was pretty slim pickings (fruit basket and other things had not been refilled). Location was fine - about 15 minute drive to the downtown area. Would not stay here again though, would prefer a newer, friendlier hotel even if we have to spend more money.
