“Beautiful Room and Great Service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Beautiful room and very comfortable! Service was good and friendly. Here is the but.... lots of road noise (all night long), no fridge, bath room could use a little work. Bathroom meaning its old, shower head not great, and shower curtain had mold and torn. All that being said, I am a hotel snob and was VERY comfortable here.

We ended up at the East Bay Inn because our original hotel had made a mistake with our reservation. The Inn is a terrific old Victorian with charm in every corner. The desk manager, Phillip, could not have been more gracious and accommodating throughout our 4 night stay. Our room was clean and decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture. The location is wonderful and parking is on premises or alternatively at the city lot around the corner. I would gladly stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from East Bay Street. It will be a little quieter.

We had a very nice stay at the East Bay Inn , as we arrived on a Sunday mid afternoon the car park was full , but I managed to park outside on a meter and we were given an all day and night parking permit which was great .. The Inn is very traditional and fits in with the nearby Savannah riverside warehouses which house restaurants , bars and shops just five minutes walk away . TThe location of the Inn is perfect in general everything you need is very close by and walkable .. Our receptionist Shelia was a m a z i n g !! Shelia made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of ideas of where to eat/drink the best tour to do , best place for a coffee , ice cream etc etc !
Our room was a superior one looking out onto East Bay Street , it had two fantastic huge mahogany beds and was very well appointed in general and had everything you could ask for .
We didn't take up the offer of cheese and wine which were complimentary at 5-30pm as we went out for a walk round , but talking to other guests its a Savannah tradition and very nice by all the people I spoke to ..
The breakfast was really really good , freshly cooked eggs/bacon/grits/ as much toast or cereals as you wanted , fresh juice and endless coffee ..
When we are next in Savannah we will definitely return .. don't miss out on this place its superb

Room Tip: Go for a room at the back of the Inn as it can be noisy with traffic first thing in the morning with...

Checked in for 3 nights for 2 rooms and it was great. Excellent location as well. Parked the car in their lot and did not move it until time to leave. Julie at the front desk is wonderful she was very helpful and set up a tour for us as well so we did not have to search for one and we went with her recommendation. Phillip and everone else that we had contact with were great as well. Room was confortable, tastefullhy decorated and clean. This is an old building so the floors creak but it adds to the character. We will definately stay there again.

Room Tip: they have queen beds only and some with 2 queens. Building is non smoking. Free bottled water availa...

We absolutely loved everything about this place!! Having said that, we stayed outside the historic district for our first night in Savannah, which was a Saturday, because everything is very expensive on the weekend nights. The price on Sunday-Thursday is a little more reasonable. Staff was knowledgable and very nice. Complimentary wine and cheese, free cold bottled water, location was pretty much perfect, rooms clean. Only negative is paying for offsite parking and no pool and no smoking rooms.

The rooms were truly beautiful with period furniture, including a couch and chairs in addition to the bed(s). Although old, it did not feel old and had none of that musty smell you sometimes get in really old hotels. The staff was as friendly as you would ever want and very accommodating. The bellman gave us a running commentary on the history of the hotel as he took us up to our rooms. My room was on the front of the building but I heard no street noise. Breakfast was not good. I would stay at this hotel again in a minute but I'd go out for breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here recently and had a room fronting Bay Street. We enjoyed the spacious size, elegant bath and period furniture. The central location near the factors walk was nice. Only two downsides I would mention, 1) parking is very limited and though the hotel makes parking available at a municipal garage it is a bit of a walk in the Savannah heat; and 2) the rooms that front Bay have charming brick facade walls that tend to let in traffic noise, which can get rather loud in the morning and afternoon.
