5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

This was our fifth stay at the East Bay Inn. During this visit we took our daughter so we had to get a room with two beds. The room was spacious and beautiful. Parking is limited directly on site at East Bay Inn but were able to park at the city parking garage for one night when we didn't find a spot at the inn itself and its not bad, our vehicle was not tampered with and its only a block from the hotel. The evening wine and cheese reception is a nice touch. We always meet interesting people that way. This time we met two ladies who were traveling together and who have been friends for many years, it was nice to chat with them, we also met a couple who traveled from Florida and enjoyed their visit as well. Charlie is a local ghost who haunts the Inn, we also heard stories of encounters with him as well. Again, staff was terrific, very personable. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone traveling to Savannah. Great location to River Street as well as the squares and great restaurants.

Room Tip: Rooms directly in front can be loud as there is traffic from Bay Street.

Great location, rooms, and staff!! Have stayed at the East Bay three times and is our favorite place to stay in Savannah. Don't miss the wine and cheese in the evening. Love meeting the other guests. Rooms are quaint and romantic. Haven't experienced any ghosts but enjoyed the stories of Charlie.

The East Bay Inn was an exceptional choice for our vacation. It was chosen because of the location right on Bay street with access to River Street and City Market. The staff was exceptional! The value for the price was above average. We would recommend East Bay Inn to anyone traveling to Savannah. It made for easy access to the Historic District. Because of the location and the fact that Savannah is pedestrian friendly. When we go there the next time we will not rent a car and just take a cab to and from the airport. Our rental car left the lot once during the week we were in Savannah.
But it was the staff at East Bay Inn that made the trip worthwhile. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. They would be the reason to travel there again!

Room Tip: Reserve a room on the street side. You can watch people and ships go by on the river.

We stayed at East Bay Inn for two nights the staff is wonderful, always very happy to assist you in any way! You feel pampered, breakfast was good although the same both days. The evening meet and greet, wine and cheese is a nice touch! Parking is the only issue as space is very limited. Would highly recommend and if ever back in Savannah would stay at East Bay!!

The Inn was nice and had much character. They did a nice job with the breakfast and cordials in the afternoon. Everything to my surprise tasted quite good. The employees were very nice and helpful. I really wanted to give a four circle rating however I felt the rooms were dirty. We had a large group so we had three rooms. One on the first floor which was a pet room and two others on the second floor. All three rooms had bathtubs that not drain so you bath in a pool of water and the tubs had a lot of mildew. The floors appeared as if they had not been washed in some time. The first day we got there we had dropped water on the floor and I cleaned it up with a towel and the towel was black. Gross! Then we noticed items left from the persons in the rooms before us. One room had a cork under the table the other had a sock on the floor. This was consistent in all three rooms. We had the pet room and was told that you would not get maid service unless you took the dog out of the room. We did this and put the please service sign on the door, we were we gone the morning and most of the afternoon but, no one serviced the room. The next day we left the dog in the room with the privacy sign and when we returned there was a sign saying they could not service the room but they were leaving clean towels, etc, for us to use. However there was nothing left by the room. I am going to let the Inn know of this maybe it's just a need of meeting or change with their cleaning staff. Location was very good too. It would have almost been perfect if not for the dirtiness.

This place is in the right location to see everything in Savannah & it is in a restored historical building. It is sort of a hotel but has a B&B feel with the wine & cheese reception, lovely furniture in the guest rooms as well as the lobby & hall ways & the staff helped me with my plans for dinner & sightseeing.

The bathrooms are huge and the rooms had lots of space. Ask for a room on the top floor. The room above us must had at least 20 people... The floors squeaked with every step!!! Melvin the bellman was a very kind and attentive gentleman. Shelia demonstrated southern hospitality! The wine and cheese was more than I expected. We ran out only one night but they happily replaced the snacks. The staff have to multitask job duties... So be patient!!
