“GREAT PLACE, GREAT VALUE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

What an outstanding value! For a small amount of money you get a kitchenette, bed, nice bathroom, sofa and nice chair. Pretty big TV too. Staff was polite. room was clean. quiet at night. I WILL stay here again.

In town for the Rock & Roll Marathon when all the local establishment's rate were greatly inflated. Budget didn't allow $300 plus to stay on the riverfront so the challenge was to find something decent but not too far away from the starting line close to the riverfront. TownPlace Suites was about 8 miles away - an easy drive down Abercorn Street.

The hotel was very clean, the staff, extremely friendly and helpful, the amenities were new and nice. This is not a luxury hotel but the price includes and limited continental breakfast and very good internet access. I recommended this facility and will stay here again.

Room Tip: Note that the basic room has a full kitchen but that there is NOT a separate bedroom.

Jayground thank you for sharing feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. I understand you were in town for Rock and Roll Marathon. I hope you enjoyed the race and had a chance to enjoy our wonderful city. Our hotel is moderately priced, a short drive to the historic district while also giving you the same comforts you have at home. I was very pleased the staff took great care of you and we now have a new loyal guest. We look forward to seeing you again on your next trip to the area.

Let me first say that it's a nightmare looking for decent hotels that allow a pet. We have Lab and take him with us on every trip that we possibly can but finding accommodations that meet our standards (all allow a large size pet) was a challenge. We came across the Townplace and the previous reviews convinced us that we should take a chance and stay there for our Labor day weekend trip.

Check-in was very quick and the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The hotels was pretty full so we had to park near the far end of the hotel. Thank goodness our room was on that end so it ended up working out. The room was fine and met it's need. It was congruent with the price point so there were no complaints on our end. The only complaint that we had was with the air conditioning unit. It was very loud and made this weird watery fountain sound; it was pretty annoying but not a deal breaker.

We liked that the hotel was surrounded by a good deal of restaurant choices because we eat out most of the time, however, if we were people who cooked the hotel room had everything we would need if we wanted to cook meals while we were there (they even had an oven - we thought that was a pretty cool addition) and there was grocery store, pharmacy, and Lowes & Home Depot just in case.

Overall, we'd stay there again and recommend the hotel to a family traveling with their pet.

Thanks for letting us know how your recent stay was at our hotel. At TownePlace Suites we realize that your pet is also a member of your family. Having your pet with you while on vacation can give you piece of mind. I agree the hotel is in a great location with many options for dinner that are close by,or you can stay in and enjoy the many comforts of home. I will look into the sound coming from the AC unit. We look forward to having your family stay with us again soon.

It was a great hotel, clean, the staff was friendly. It was a bit of a drive downtown area but I chose it because of the price and it was worth it. So if you dont want to drive 25 minutes to hang out or go downtown do not stay here. If you are looking for a hotel with a good price, clean and great accommodations (free internet, free parking) this is the place. It is close to a big mall and many of restaurants.

Me and my family can intown for the weekend ( 7pm/Labor Day), didn't have reservation anywhere. After checking virtually every hotel in the city with no luck of finding a room, we pulled up to Towne Place Suites. The hotel was booked solid, but they did have a room that was closed because of un-authorized smoking. The young lady at the check-in counter advised me of such and asked if I wanted to check out that room. The room was very clean, but did have a cigarette smell. I must say, she went beyond the call of duty to try to make me and my family comfortable in that room, plus she saved us from having to drive to another town to look for a hotel (she got rid of most if the cigarette smell :) ). The hotel is conveniently located surrounded by restaurants and a couple of malls. Hotel was quiet and peaceful. A/C works extremely well. I would stay here again. Thank you Towne Place Suites, and a special thanks to the young lady who saved our trip (Puerto Rico) :) .

We stopped here on our way from NY to FLA. It was only 12:30PM but we had been driving all night and they allowed us to check in early. Our room was a one room suite with full kitchen. It was clean and the AC worked well. The boys slept on the couch bed which was not the best bed but comfortable for hotel couch bed standards. The breakfast was small but at least gave us something to have before we got on the road again. Certainly not a "breakfast" but more of a cereal, oatmeal, muffin, fruit type snack. The staff was pleasant. The outdoor pool looked nice and clean but there was a storm when we got there so we really didn't get to use it.

This hotel is nice, it is very clean, and it is well-appointed, as expected for the chain it belongs to. That would be the simple description were it not for the level of service we got, which I consider exceptional.

We called the night before looking to make a reservation with Marriott Rewards points. The Marriott website limited the kind of rooms that were available if paying with points. The hotel staff accomodated.

We booked the next night (to be paid at the quoted rate) and stayed. The next morning the hairdryer failed to function, and the staff was called to replace it. Unfortunately, we were in a big hurry and knocked on the room next door to see if we could borrow our neighbor's hairdryer for a couple of minutes. No big deal. I'm not sure exactly what transpired after that, but that afternoon the front desk called us to apologize for the hairdryer incident, and offer us both a discount and Marriott points to make up. Quite unexpected and very welcomed.

As we were leaving, we were short-handed, and one of the housekeeping staff offered to help us take our stuff to the car... ...and then she wouldn't accept a tip!

It's the little things that make for a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: The four 2-bedroom corner suites per floor are very spacious.
