We had a great first anniversary weekend in Savannah and a wonderful time at the hotel. There were a few glitches in service, which keep it from being a five, but otherwise we enjoyed the stay very much. Our room had a river view and was so much fun to be right on the river to see all the big boats. I also really liked the ferry rides back and forth, and if you bring a "to go" cup from one of the bars on your way home, you can make your own booze cruise!
My husband had ordered champagne and strawberries to be delivered to the room when we arrived, and we waited an hour and they didn't come. He called down and they weren't sure what he was talking about and finally said they would be up but they didn't arrive til about 3 hours later (after we had gone into the city.) Since we didn't get to drink it that day, we put it in the fridge and I left a note for the housekeeping staff to leave the glasses so we could enjoy the champagne the next night, and they cleared them away anyway....but service express brought two more up in like 3 minutes when we called.

We played bocce by the pool and loved the hot tub right on the river. Had lunch at the restaurant but ate most of our meals in town and never ate breakfast there.

All in all a fine stay and completely within expectations of a Westin.

While the rooms and bath are classic Westin, this hotel is the warmest starwood I have experienced. The staff was genuinely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are standard Westin and while the resort fee is annoying (especially if you are using points), it did cover a wide range of services including the driving range at the golf club (bring appropriate clothes). If it wasn't freezing, the pool, hot tub and splash pad would have been very inviting. Ferry service was perfect for two days and somewhat delayed on the third. We would return.

We had planned to stay for 3 nights last week, but bad weather had us change to 1 night as a stop-over enroute to home. The golf course looked nice, but we did not have an opportunity to play due to rain.

They have tried to update the facility, and our room was nice but not exceptional. The water taxi was a plus and not crowded, as it was rainy. Most comments are accurate...food and bar overpriced, as to be expected at a resort and rooms and beds are good, as per Westin.

We had hoped to return and golf someday, but we are not sure anymore.

I stayed here with my wife when we were in town for the Savannah Marathon. We got our room on Priceline and were very happy with how it all worked out. We did not do "name your own price" but instead just selected the room location (river side) and bed size (king). Everything was provided to us just as listed on Priceline. The was a resort fee (~$20/day I think). I knew this and had included this in my calculations so I was not bothered by it at all. The price was still good even with the resort fee included.
We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast and it was very pricey but the Priceline deal included $50 resort credit which cover the breakfast.
The location is across the river from the old downtown. It is a pain taking the ferry across but it is free and if you have a riverside view you can time your departure from your room to when the ferry arrives by looking out your window,
