I am a Hilton Honors member and fairly loyal to Hampton Inns when I travel. I have always found them to be a good mix between value and amenities. The rate was good since we were not in the Historic District (which is only about a 10 - 15 minute car ride away). Upon arrival, we turned down the bed spread to find an excessive amount of hair on the bed spread. The staff came up and changed the bedding for us. However, many of the chairs in the common area where you eat breakfast had stains on them as well. Between those two things we just could not get comfortable with the cleanliness of the hotel. One night after the family went to bed, I went to the common area to work. Asked to change the TV to the NCAA tournament. Was told that the channel could not be changed on either TV. The next morning at breakfast, both TVs were on different channels. My wife and I thought the pillows on the beds were horrible. They looked comfortable, but as soon as you put your head on them they immediately flattened out. The one night we took the kids down to the pool, the chemical imbalance was so out of whack our eyes stung and continuely teared up. Could not stay long, because we could not keep our eyes open to watch the kids. Overall very disappointed in this hotel.
