“Clean, restful hotel with good staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

This Super 8 was a nice stopping point on the way to FL. It was a bit difficult to locate, as it is off the side road of the major road at this exit. Signs were not too great, and at night it was a bit of a challenge. Once inside, staff was pleasant, rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. The only negative is that the internet was slow, which made it frustrating to try to go online from the room. However, great price, good value. You can book this hotel with confidence!

Decent hotel...Had the service been better I would have given a better review honestly.
Hard Beds..
Low pressure...
Limited English speaking staff...
Not enough towels in room, told to come pick them up at front desk...
Fee charged for thirty extra minutes in room when he place is far from packed.
For the price of this room, you can go somewhere else with higher ratings for service.
Look around.

Pros:
The management honored our request for a room away from the street, so the view out our second-floor window was of a beautiful, serene, quiet forest. The room was clean, quiet, well lit and odor-free. Surprisingly quiet, considering how close the hotel is to I-95. We had good control over the room temperature. Price was very reasonable -- under $70, including taxes/fees.

Cons:
The hotel charges a $10-per-hour late checkout fee (after 11am), regardless of how busy they are.
Downtown Savannah is a 14 mile drive from the hotel. (Mostly freeway, so it's a fairly quick ride.)
The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work in our room (#214).
The refrigerator was turned off when we arrived in the room.
The pillows were uniformly firm and flat. (We prefer softer pillows.)

Room Tip: Rooms away from street are quieter, darker, and have a beautiful view of the forest.

We were traveling up the east coast and decided to use this I-95 Super 8 as our first stop from Florida. It was slightly more expensive than similar motels but had generally good reviews.

Our first impression was very positive. The room was spotlessly clean and there was a separate seating area in the room, almost giving the impression of a suite. Everything worked as advertised and the wifi was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

However, the hotel fell somewhat short when it was time for breakfast. Every food item had crowds of people round it, and also we were lucky to get a seat at all (some people came in and didn't get seated). There were fresh waffles available, but each one took a few minutes and with several people in front of me in line it wasn't really an option as we wanted to hit I-95 again quickly. I made do with a foil wrapped cinnamon roll (which was ok-ish) and a slice of toast. Had hoped for more.

So overall, if you want an above average, quality room and aren't too fussed about breakfast (or plan to eat elsewhere) then the premium price here might be worth it. We'll probably stay somewhere else next time...
