I researched all the various tours, compared prices, looked at all of the reviews, and decided that our party of four would take a walking tour with Savannah Dan on August 5th. Dan's tour is only $20 and I saw where some of the other walking tours were high as $45 and some of the trolley tours were almost $30. I noticed that some of the trolleys only did about a 20 second drive-by at some of the historic sites while we were there as long as five minutes hearing about the history of that particular site. It was pretty cool that Dan asked who were veterans and Dan popped a salute to those who served in uniform. Dan really knows his history and he gives an in-depth presentation on all of the historical figures who were involved in the founding of Savannah. This wasn't just a job for Savannah Dan and he wasn't reciting a written script but you could tell he was really enthused about the History of Savannah, I was very interested in the history of John Wesley and Colonial Cemetary. We were so moved by the history of Colonial Cemetary that we went back later on our own and tour the grave sights. This tour helped us find our bearings so we knew where we were going when we were touring on our own. The only negative thing abou a walking tour is that it is hard to see every historical square in Savannah but what you to do see and hear is an in-depth presentation of the history of Savannah. If you can only take one tour and you want the biggest bang for your money then take this tour!
