“Simply the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

We just returned from a four night stay at the Amethyst Inn. We arrived as strangers and felt like we left as old friends of the innkeepers, Jane and Rocky. They are wonderful hosts and made what would have been a great time in Savannah, exceptional. The breakfasts were abundant and Jane easily accomodated my vegetarian preferences. They provided homemade cakes, omelets and fresh fruit (try it with the local fig vinegar- delicious!) We stayed in the Magnolia Room which has a king size bed. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet, even as breakfast was being prepared and served downstairs. Rocky mapped out walks for us and he and Jane made daily suggestions on what to see and do. What most impressed us were the extra touches like making all of our tour and dinner reservations. We were seated at the restaurants' best tables and in one case, even offered a complimentary appetizer. In the afternoons when it got hot, we sat outside on the lovely side patio, reading The Book as its referred to in Savannah(Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) and munching on Jane's homemade candy. Yes, a different type of homemade candy which they put out each afternoon. We fell in love with Savannah and a large part of that is due to this wonderful B&B. We have stayed at B&B's all over the world, and our experience at Amethyst Inn, has simply been the best we've ever had. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We loved the Magnolia Room- a super quiet room with a nice king size bed. There are also two chairs...

We just got back from a weekend getaway to Savannah and it could not have been any more perfect. The Amethyst Inn is beautiful bed and breakfast full of gorgeous antiques and Southern charm. There is a lovely pool in the back, perfect for relaxing after a day of sight seeing. Breakfast was fabulous each morning, and Jane and Rocky were the best innkeepers. They were full of suggestions on places to go and things to do in Savannah. You can tell that they love Savannah and they love what they do. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone. We can't wait to make a return visit!!

The Amethyst Inn is beautiful, and Rocky and Jane are the most considerate and thoughtful hosts you could ever have. They have thought of everything when putting this beautiful place together as an inn. The gourmet breakfasts were wonderful with very special touches. Rocky mapped out our destinations and made suggestions on interesting places to go. The location is great--a close walk to everything. Rooms and furnishings are beautiful and comfortable. Great experience. We will be back!

Rocky and Jane were absolutely out of this world in terms of kindness, hopsitality, information, life experience, and warmth. We scheduled a last minute getaway to Savannah for a few days of R&R and the Amethyst Inn was just perfect for us. Jane and Rocky have more energy than a young army of teenagers - I don't know how they do it, but it was a pleasure to spend time with them. Great food, nice accommodations, beautiful garden, and always a personal touch. Jane even played Boggle with us while managing to answer the phone and cook. Rocky and Jane renovated this beautiful home themselves ... and each nail seems to have a touch of love in it. These are good people with good values and award-winning hospitality. Also great location!!! We had a great trip and great weekend here.

We would like to go back sometime. And perhaps bring the kids!

P.S. Rocky is a Purple Heart veteran. Thank you, Rocky, for your service!!!!

Rocky and Jane were the nicest and sweetest hosts you could ask for. Jane is an excellent cook and makes the most delicious food for breakfast. Her food was better than some of the restaurants we ate at. Rocky is the most helpful person to assist you in finding a great place to eat or things to do around Savannah. We felt at home right away. We loved the B&B and thought it was very pretty. Our room was spacious and had a great jacuzzi tub. We were very happy and had a great trip to Savannah. Thanks!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Geranium room.

The moment we walked into the Inn, Jane and Rocky told us to drop our bags and join them for a glass (or two) of wine and relax in their beautiful kitchen. We were on a long weekend vacation and looking forward to seeing Savannah and spend a few days just chilling. Despite some forecasted inclement weather, we got exactly what we were looking for and more. Jane is an amazing cook, her breakfasts are just divine (in fact we came home with a few recipes) and Rocky mapped out all the places to see, things to do, spots to dine and marked it all on a map. After a great day of walking the town, we took a bottle of wine down to the pool to relax and ended up chatting with Rocky and Jane for a few hours before realizing we still needed to eat dinner! They are truly amazing people and we are still not sure how they fit 30 hours in a 24 hour day. We stayed in the Camellia room, which has a private balcony. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable - just be prepared for the open top in the bathroom. The inn is classic and truly a beautiful home. We really enjoyed meeting and eating breakfast with the other travelers. Don't miss the the Sentient Bean coffee shop on other side of Forsyth park - great coffee and alternative atmosphere. Will absolutely recommend to friends and family and we will be back.
