“"Loved It"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

Perfect place for our one year anniversary/honeymoon. We had never been to Savannah before and Maurice was so helpful with advice on having the best experience of the city. We enjoyed the company of not only Maurice and Glenn but the other guests as well. The house itself is so charming and welcoming. Breakfast was fabulous and we enjoyed seeing the color pallet of the table for each day. Sherry and brownies in the parlor hall are just a sweet touch to the whole package. There is so much more I could say here about how great our experience staying at this B&B was but to sum it up...we will definitely be back next year or sooner!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but the two upstairs front rooms have bay windows as well.

We stayed at the Park Ave after a great deal of looking. It was a perfect choice! Maurice and Glen were both friendly, accommodating and did everything possible to make guests comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic as was having Maurice sit and have breakfast with us! It was like visiting old friends. The house is spotless and the rooms clean beyond anyone's expectations. The lovely girl who cleaned our room did a wonderful job. Sheets changed everyday and CLEAN!! We loved it here and would highly recommend this place! Close enough to everything, but far enough for peace and quiet. Perfect location.

Room Tip: The Ellen Kelley and colony are in the back of the house. You can't go wrong.

THE best B&B my girlfriend and I have stayed in hands down! We stayed Valentine's Day 2014, and it was truly an amazing weekend. Not only is Savannah an incredible city, but Glenn and Maurice think of everything one would ever need in a room (they even gave us chocolates for V-Day; free of charge!). The house itself is very well decorated, and they have tons of books all over about Savannah's unique history, along with having them in the rooms for some nighttime reading. They have a wonderful outdoor cat named Red who is very friendly and greatly enjoyed sitting on my lap while we smoked an evening cigar and drank wine. Breakfast was great, not too filling but not too small (which was good because there's a lot of good food to try in Savannah), and the company was fantastic. Glenn and Maurice also made sure to ask every day what all people had planned, and had great recommendations for restaurants and things to do.

Will be coming back here again!

I should have booked this place rather than 1790 inn. The innkeepers are so sweet, Maurice and Glenn are so helpful and accommodating. They are really happy and proud of their city, and want you to enjoy it to the fullest. The decor is beautifully done, with lots of color. Every room is so pretty, and so many cute antiques are displayed. We really loved our stay and would recommend it to everyone.

We stayed during the 2014 Valentine's weekend. We have stayed in many hotels before but this was a first for a bed and breakfast. My wife and I were both of the opinion that Park Avenue Manor was truly the cleanest place we have stayed in. Loved all the extra touches, such as brownies and sherry, excellent selection of reading materials and advice that only locals can offer. The price was also very reasonable and in fact, was less expensive than most hotels. We will definitely return!

Savannah has always been on our bucket list of places to visit. Park Avenue Manor was the perfect home base for us. When we arrived, Maurice gave us a tour of the home and made us very welcome. We stayed in the Ellen Kelly room; it is large and bright, with beautiful appointments. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was roomy and warm, and the building was very quiet. The downstairs parlors were very comfortable. We loved the brownies and sherry, which became our evening treat after our day's exploration. Maurice and Glenn both gave us great suggestions for places to eat, and things to see and do. When we wondered how we might get to Bonaventure Cemetery, Maurice recommended a tour for us. When we needed a taxi to get to our dinner reservation, he recommended a taxi company. Each morning my husband enjoyed his coffee in the courtyard garden with the house cat, Red. We especially enjoyed the family breakfast with all the guests at the table. We met very nice people and traded reviews of restaurants. We highly recommend Maurice, Glenn, and the Park Avenue Manor.

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary in Savannah and decided to stay at Park Avenue Manor. This was a great decision. We stayed in the Savannah room and loved it. Great room, comfortable bed, and so convenient to everything (if you don't mind some walking). To the furthest end of the historic district you are looking at just over a mile + but in and around the center is much less of a walk.

We enjoyed our great breakfasts and talking with the other guests with the family style breakfast where everyone eats at the same time. The brownies and sherry were an added bonus.

Both owners were present when you needed and in the background not to interfere as well. They were extremely helpful with suggestions and a very friendly greeting an tour when we arrived.

We will definitely consider staying here again!

Room Tip: Savannah room is great but can be a bit noisy with traffic going by.
