Awesome rooms fantastic location right on Monterey Square and Forsythe Park. Breakfast was delicious and the concierges were very helpful. Great wine reception each evening. Thank you Nell, Erin, Miss Virginia and especially Brandon... We loved our stay at the Eliza!! We will surely stay here next time!!

We stayed for 2 nights this week and absolutely loved our time here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the place is full of history, the rooms (at least in the main house) are all decorated in period furniture, the location is great, and it's very quiet. We really enjoyed the evening reception where they offer wine and cheese and a different finger sandwich each night. It was fun meeting several folks an sharing stories of the day. After the evening reception they offer desserts and coffee. Very nice. The breakfasts created by Miss Virginia were very tasty.

Room Tip: Stay in the old building for the best experience. The rooms aren't as new but when staying in a...

I surprised my wife with this trip for her birthday and was extremely glad I did. Not only was the hotel outstanding with beautifully furnished rooms, magnificently painted and decorated with antiques and original paintings, but the staff were first class, friendly and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable.
The hotel is perfectly located for the old Savannah section and a walk through the many old squares to the river was an easy walk with lots of sights on the way. We also made use of one of the many sight seeing tour shuttles which stopped right at the door.
Great restaurants are a feature of Savannah and I will call out Vics on the river as especially good. The hotel provided a hot breakfast with local menu items every morning along with great coffee and fresh orange juice served in a beautiful fenced courtyard complete with potted plants, fountains and a Koi pond. The food was excellent! If that was not enough, at 5:30 every evening wine and chees was served in the sitting room for the guests and at 8pm, deserts and coffee. We pigged out and could not have been happier.
Parking was easy on the street right outside and the hotel provided two day parking cards for just $12. The hotel is in a very safe area and walking felt safe even late at night. We made many new friends during our stay and are already looking forward to a return in the Fall.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are different as this is a converted large house. State if you want a courtyard or...

We stayed in the Eliza Thompson House for 3 nights a few weeks ago and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. A few room tips, we stayed in the Queen room right under the stairs with our own entrance. The room was very charming with a fireplace, 2 chairs and a separate room with the queen sized bed and tv. The room has a dungeon like feel and actually is a bit damp. The AC helped tremendously but thought it was helpful to know. The bathroom was great, good shower pressure and they provide hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The afternoon teas/snacks and evening wine/desserts were fantastic. The continental breakfast was more than adequate including hot dishes plus cereal, bread, yogurt. I would have loved some fresh fruit but hey, it's the South...enjoy the eggs and biscuits! In terms of Savannah, we explored the city, did a ghost tour in a hearse and checked out Tybee Beach, a day trip to Hilton Head and Bonaventure cemetary. All were worth the visit except we thought the crowd at Tybee Beach was a bit seedy and trashy.
Restaurants: Circa Pub 1874 was amazing for dinner - HUGE portions and delicious. Definitely need to visit the old fashioned ice cream shop and we enjoyed Public for lunch.

I chose this from the internet and I could not have been happier...from the tree lined street to the comfortable room to the helpful and agreeable staff, it was a wonderful experience. I would return in a heartbeat and request the same room and the same breakfast options. I heartily recommend the Eliza Thompson House.

Room Tip: Stay in the main house if you want the authenticity of the time the house was built.

My husband and I just returned from 4 lovely days celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in the beautiful city of Savannah, GA. The Eliza Thompson House was a big part of a most fabulous vacation. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and go out of their way to please - from carrying bags, making a special request breakfast to advice on restaurants (including making the reservations) & sightseeing. This lovely property is located on one of the most beautiful streets of Savannah and centrally located. The only disappointment was we did not see any ghosts (and we were in the R. Bruce suite). We will definately be back & maybe next time make a new friend from another dimension!

Room Tip: I was lucky enough to see a few different rooms & all were lovely. I prefer to stay in the main...

My wife and I located the Eliza Thompson House as we searched for a location within Savannah close enough to River Street yet far enough away from traffic. The staff greated and provided us with abundant information in regards to dining and our historical interests. Our room overlooked the garden and was cozy, quiet and very comfortable. Ms Virginia prepared a tasteful and delicious continental breakfast and if grits are served, you must try them. The house contains alot of history and possesses some of the original works. We will return here for another visit to Savannah.

Room Tip: The garden has water running in the pools but do not let that discourage you from booking a garden r...
