“A nice place to stay in Savannah-with a few exceptions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Location of this B & B was excellent, in close proximity to all the attractions and restaurants allowing you to walk almost everywhere. Parking is a problem- very difficult to find parking spaces on the proper side of street due to street cleaning overnight. This is not your typical B & B, much larger so you do not get the personal interaction with the owners as you would with a smaller one-almost has the feel of a small hotel. Rooms were good, beds and showers very nice - along with the roar of the air conditioner which is quite common in these older places. Breakfast was ok, certainly sufficient but if you are looking for that great , gourmet breakfast in more typical B & B's this is not the place. As far as the complimentary dessert each night, ok if what you like are thawed out frozen desserts- certainly did not appear to be made from scratch. Only other problem was this one thing- shortly after returning from breakfast our lower level room had a sewer smell? Only lasted for minutes but not very nice- very strange and my roommate said she she smelled the same thing overnight. All in all, an adequate place to stay- if I returned to savannah I would most likely look for a different place.

This is a beautiful home and the courtyard is very pleasant. The breakfast is served buffet style but the wine and cheese hour is great as well as the after hours desserts. Very good. The personnel are very helpful and courteous. We had the nursery room with a good location at the front of the home with a beautiful window. It had a double bed and a very narrow, small bathroom however. We did enjoy ourselves and would return.

The location of the B@B was excellent but parking was a challenge. Only street parking available and had to move car on certain days to accomodate the city parking restrictions. We were on the third floor of the carriage house with no elevator so unless you are in great physical shape choose a ground level room. The rooms are lovely but very small in this area. Would be fine for one person but crowded for two. The courtyard and the breakfast was the highlight of the stay. Courtyard is very well appointed and breakfast selections outstanding.

my wife and i stayed at eliza thompson house in early september and could not have been more pleased. the bellman was the most helpful, eager to please man we have met in years. he directed us to a great parking place upon arrival. parking is critical in savannah.the breakfast was also excellent.

Room Tip: we chose the least expensive room, the nursery. it was fine for the two of us.

Came to Savannah for business and treated myself to a little Southern hospitality at the Eliza Thompson house. My fellow business associates staying at the Hilton and were very jealous of my accommodations. The B&B is located near most major squares, sites and shops. Nell at the front desk was genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I could have had just one more night. Will come back with my husband.

Located in the heart of Historic Savannah, this beautiful B&B added the perfect touch to our stay for my husband's birthday. The photo album featuring nearby restaurants and their menues was extremely helpful in making dinner reservations. The hors d'oeuvres served each evening add a personal touch of class. The rooms were updated with much attention to detail and style. They were comfy with that old time charm yet still smelled fresh. The beakfast was delicious! Staff couldn't have been more helpful. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home with their friendliness and availability. We are anxiously awaiting our return trip to the Eliza Thompson House for a longer stay next time. We have already recommended it to family.

The Eliza Thompson House in Savanna was exceptional! The location, great...staff, southern charm friendly...bed and shower, wonderful....breakfast, cocktails, dessert: all complimentary and delicious! Like a B&B, it offers an opportunity to meet other travelers at the "community" breakfasts, evening cocktail/hor d' houvres reception, and dessert/coffee hours....BUT, it was charmingly private as well. The location was ideal for quiet evenings away from the bar scene, yet close enough to walk there...and anywhere in the historic downtown area! Also, as an Army couple, we appreciated the 20% military discount! We will be recommending the Eliza Thompson House to anyone we know who's going to beautiful Savanna, GA! Bye, ya'll!!
