“great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We had an excellent time, spotless rooms, near riverfront and bus connections. The breakfast was great - if you didn't see what you wanted you just had to ask and Brenda Warren would do her best to see that you got it. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Dear Barbaraelln12;

We appreciate the feedback and staff recognition. Brenda does a fantastic job representing the hotel. She goes above and beyond in all that she does and we truly appreciate her efforts. We love to see that our guests recognize these qualities. Thank you so very much and we hope to see you again.

Hotel is very easy to find, parking convenient, and the staff was great. The room was clean and comfortable, pool and workout room were clean as well. Breakfast was fresh and varied. Breakfast staff was helpful. Hotel is about a mile from River street where many of the shops and restaurants are. We walked everywhere. Really enjoyed the River Ferry, the SCAD Art Museum, and the Green/Meldrin house for lots of history. Don't miss The Cathedral of John the Baptist. It's amazing!

Savannah was the first stop on a four-day trip with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. First and foremost, finding the hotel was extremely easy, not too far from the 95 and GPS found it without a problem. I drove straight into their parking lot and found parking immediately. There was also a city parking garage available across the street. Front desk and ancillary staff were friendly and helpful. Since we were only checking in for one night, I immediately went to the concierge - Bess (6/15/2013) who was friendly and very helpful. She coordinated the purchase of a site-seeing tour with Old Savannah Tours and arranged pick-up, which was all done within 20 minutes of arriving to the hotel. Room 521 with two queen beds was very spacious, including enough elbow room in the bathroom. The room smelled nice, but there was a few dust particles noted on the furniture. Other than the dust, the room was great with comfortable beds, lot of pillows, working television and coffee pot. The coffee in the room was good. They offered free hot and cold breakfast options. Breakfast staff was very nice and attentive. All in all, the room and lobby were comfortable, hotel was clean, breakfast was good, customer service was excellent, location was safe, and I would return.

Con: Hotel is listed in the historical district, but it is about 1 mile from the action. Walking is an option. But if you have bad knees, I would utilize city transportation available for free during the week or use a on/off tour company like Old Savannah Tours who will pick you up from hotel. Unfortunately, city transport is not available on weekends.

Room Tip: We're in room 521

Traveled with a senior group from our church (Apples Chapel) of 25. When we arrived the rooms were ready and the staff greeted us and gave us info of the area. The rooms were very quiet with comfortable beds. At breakfast we were greeted by Brenda and Sonya who took very good care of us. Such a friendly staff which made our morning great to start off the day. In fact when our bus drove off at the end of our time there, Brenda came out to wave us good-bye. We all felt like we were leaving family behind. We met new friends while staying there. The hotel was in the historic district so we were close to the visitor center, close to DOT transportation and restaurants.

For those who like to walk, this is an excellent location when visiting the historic district of Savannah. The hotel is about 1 mile north of the river front.

We stayed in a room with a king bed. The room was very spacious, clean, and like new condition. The price was excellent when compared with other hotels in the area. Be prepared to pay an addition parking fee. This is a good choice for a hotel in Savannah... Recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Country Inn & Suites in the Historic District of Savannah and would highly recommend it. We were able to walk everywhere downtown and did not have to worry about driving to the sites we wanted to visit. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast included a variety of choices. I especially appreciated the use of dinner plates, coffee cups, and silverware, not the usual plastic and paper fare used for many breakfasts in hotels. The cookies were served every night between 5 & 7 and were delicious. The lobby and breakfast area was spacious and provided comfortable seating for reading and relaxing after a day of sightseeing.
