“Great hotel within walking distance to it all!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

This Country Inn & Suites had a good location within walking distance to all of the historic area of Savannah. Of course, you have to be in good shape to walk it all....We cheated and took a trolley one time but still walking was no problem. Hotel was good but the carpets in the hallways need replacing and the breakfast could be upgraded somewhat but still a great value. We always use Country Inn & Suites when we travel and find them to be nice, clean and updated hotel that gives us the biggest bang for our buck (we are retired!!). This hotel also offered a winter rate that was great as the temp in Savannah was above normal with temps in the mid to upper 70's during our stay!! Can't beat that!! Hotel staff were friendly and room was clean and quiet with a limited parking underground garage that can be accessed by the hotel elevator...reallly convenient and worth the $12 charge.
If you have a large sedan it will be quite tight to park, would suggest using the city garage across the street...same charge. Would definately come back to this hidden jewel in Savannah!!

Room Tip: Our room on the third floor was very quiet...stay away from the ice machines and elevators ...

we got a late start and early morning and a late night but i must say, the staff made us feel at home. didnt matter what part of the day rather it be Ashley in the morning, Bonita at night and there was a new fella i think he said his name was Craig, lots of information and knowledgeable. This is credit to what a hotel should feel like and I will be returning again soon.

My family just spent three days at this property in the historic district of Savannah. We liked the location as well as the hotel. The lobby and breakfast areas are very comfortable and thoughtfully designed.

Both of our rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable and the CATV had a vast number of channels to choose from. Staff were all very friendly, including desk personnel, maids and especially the 'breakfast ladies'. While we did not use the conceirge service, we did notice that other 'tourist's were being well taken care of as they asked questons about Savannah and it's attractions and history.

The free breakfast was pretty good with a nice selection of fruit, yoghurt, Breads, oatmeal and eggs etc. They also had the necessary additions such as cinnamon, fruit and brown sugar for the oatmeal, as well as a nice salsa to spice up the generic egg patties or scramble. They even provided ketchup for those who like that with their eggs:)

On the down side, the wireless internet signal was consistently very weak in our rooms and I heard other guests make the same comment. Once the staff gave me an ethernet cable, that connectivity issue went away. Their lobby area business center computers worked very well. Free internet to me is essential, and the Country Inn and Suites has it. I tend not to be charitable about hotels that still gouge customers for this essential service.

Our validated parking at the indoor garage next door was convenient, but, not free. There were also a few glitches between the garage and the hotel that made entering and exiting somewhat confusing.

We also liked that the hotel is within a 2-5 minute walk of a number of very nice bars, eateries and beautiful neighborhood streets and parks.

Room Tip: A room above the lobby floor would be a good quiet choice. Smokers are allowed to smoke in an outsid...

Dear Margarita B;
My apologies for your room being overlooked on your last day with us. After following up with housekeeping it was determined that your room was listed as having a DND sign on the door.
If this was an oversight we certainly appreciate your understanding with the matter; and hope that you will continue to patronize our facility throughout your daughters attendance at SCAD.

We stayed at Country Inn Suites for my mom's birthday. It was a great location within walking distance to all the Savannah historical district has to offer. The staff was excellent. Hats off to Quincy who met us at breakfast the first morning. His professionalism and attention to our needs was a really nice touch. Brenda and Sonya were right behind him with personal touches of their own that made us all feel warm and fuzzy. Breakfast had something to offer for everyone from fruit to nuts and was always good and hot. The rooms are a little dated and there were a few little imperfections with our room, but once Teolita at the front desk was informed she made everything better. No big deal. Her bright smile and attention to detail made us want to return to Country Inn Suites on our next visit. Thanks for a wonderful time!

Stayed at the Country Inn and Suites 1/18-1/21/13. The lobby was very nice and gives a great first impression of the hotel. We got to our room and it was a little bit better than average but two things bothered me. 1.The bathroom was clean but there was a few noticeable things. The toilet had residue on the seat and it was obviously not cleaned 100%. The floor had a few hairs on it and the tub was not sparkling clean. I didn't complain because to me it wasn't that huge of a deal. 2. The carpets definitely need a deep clean or renovating. The sheets were nice and crisp and clean and the cleanliness of the room was fine. Breakfast was wonderful and Brenda was outstanding. She was friendly and nice and put a smile on my face. I was disappointed with the gym as there was limited cardio machines and just a bowflex no free weights. All of the staff here were great. I would most likely stay here again if I could get it for the same price I paid this time.

We stayed for two nights and mid January hadWe stayed for two nights in mid-January and had a pleasant stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. Though we didn’t have access to the other room, we were in an adjoining room, so we could hear our neighbors quite a bit. It wasn’t much of a problem, just slightly annoying. Like another reviewer noticed, the cookie tray at the desk was empty each time we walked by. Once again, it’s a small complaint but a little treat would have been nice! The parking fee was a bit much, but it was also convenient to be able to park right across the street. The location was perfect for us, but if you’re not into walking a lot I would choose another hotel closer to the action. Overall, our stay was pretty close to perfect! I would definitely recommend this hotel, and we’ll probably stay here again on our next visit.
