Description: The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Enthusiastically recommended by AAA, Food & Wine and Redbook.

“Spooky”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

I love the atmosphere in this restaurant. It's a little bit spooky, just like Savannah is. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here. This night the service was spot on. I love their Honey Pecan Fried Chicken, it is the best ! It's like a History lesson right before lunch-if you've never been, you must experience the atmosphere and the delicious food that they have to offer!

“Lots of Atmosphere and HUGE Portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

My adult daughters and I took a short trip to Savannah and loved the city. We visited the usual tourist spots and ended up having dinner on our last night at The Pirate's House on the edge of the historic area close to the river. The restaurant has a distinguished history and offers a number of rooms (some with three or four tables) for dining. Guests are offered the opportunity to take a tour with one of their resident "pirates" to learn more about the history of the house, and it's creepy past! My daughter and I ordered Southern Fried Chicken -- and it was a hearty meal... half a chicken at least, smothered in pecans, brown sugar, and butter.... far more than either of us could eat... alas...
my other daughter ordered some vegetarian sides and also had large portions. We were delighted with our tour afterwards led by Black Betty, costumed and theatrical, and offered a gratuity (not required).

“History, Pirates and Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Had dinner at The Pirates House and dined on excellent seafood. The server told us of her experiences with the 'spirits' during her time there. When we went to view the stairway into the Rum Cellar, my wife felt something tugging at her purse, but no one was there. Seems like some spirit wanted a little something from her.....
