“Tonnes of construction, but still worth a visit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

At first it was very disappointing showing up to the cathedral... scaffolding covers the entire cathedral and you can't get any pictures of the outside. When we arrived, mass was on (12 pm - 1 pm). As soon as it was over, though, we were allowed to enter and then the visit became SO worth it! The inside of the cathedral is breathtaking, emotional and just amazing (this coming from someone who doesn't see themselves as "religious"). Pictures are worth a 1000 words... wow. Stained glass, alters, beautiful art work... amazing!!!

“Why not worship God and be a tourist in tandem?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Go on - if you're Catholic, you *should* be at mass on Saturday or Sunday. If you aren't, the Inquisition won't flog you for venturing into this beautiful edifice. Enjoy the exquisitely-painted ceiling. Light a candle and say a prayer. If you are here during Savannah's nine-month long summer, enjoy the coolness. Note: As of end of Feb 2013, there is some restoration work going on outside.

“Under renovation, but worth seeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The cathedral was undergoing a facelift but fortunately visitors are welcome to go inside to experience magnificent and breathtaking examples of architecture, religious sculptures, paintings and best of all stained glass windows. You are welcome to attend noon mass, as well.

“Worth your Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

I visited in February 2013 and the entire outside is covered in scaffolding. However, the inside is absolutely gorgeous. Please stop by and look at the stained glass; the faces are absolutely beautiful. The organ must sound beautiful - wish I could have heard it as it is large (located above the entrance doors). They are kind enough to let you take pictures.
No public restrooms here, by the way.
