“Don't bother with Shuttle Service for an Early Departure.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Property is nice and clean. If you have an early am flight - please, please, please do NOT rely on the local taxi service or hotel shuttle. We were completely stranded and the taxi was booked the night before since we were told the shuttle does not operate prior to 5 am. Ended up missing our flight, and several flights as a result of that. We even left more than sufficient time to get to the airport and check-in. Not being local, we had no idea what else to do to get to the airport at 4 am.

We were on our way to Tampa Florida and behind schedule due to significant traffic delays on the road from DC. So, we turned to Tripadvisor to pick a location to stay overnight in Savannah Georgia. The Holiday Express at the Airport had an easy on and off plus the reviews were good. When we called at 7:30 pm, we got at a room at a good rate with breakfast included. We did not get charged the highest rate as many hotels do when one calls late. We did not arrive until about 11 pm and were not disappointed. First, the hotel is a few blocks from the expressway which is great as you don't hear the traffic roar when a hotel is right off the expressway. There is a gas station right there on the corner - great for a quick fill-up. When we got there were pleasantly surprised to get a room upgrade. The hotel has a newer look. The room was very comfortable as was the king size bed. The bed covers were not flimsy and the pillows were just right. The temperature controls did there job as the night was a cold one for the area. The bathroom was roomy enough with fixtures working properly. Wifi was free. Breakfast was better than most hotels of this type with the standard fare of scrambled eggs, waffles, yogurt, pastries, etc. Check-in and check out was a breeze. While not a luxury hotel, it is perfect for a quick in and out. When back in the area, will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The ice machine is next to the elevator on the 2nd floor and does not have a door to it. Ask for ro...

This was our third or fourth stay at the HIE Savannah Airport location. On every stay we have been warmly welcomed, and our room ready. This time, the young lady at the desk looked at my room assignment and immediately took back my keys to change my room from the one adjacent to the laundry room, "you don't want to hear that in the morning". We ended up on the top /third floor. The rooms are always spotless, the sheets and bedding cozy. Sometimes the breakfast had been sparse when there were tons of people, but this time the lady in charge hustled non-stop and kept it all full and fresh. The only downside is that last February (or possibly the one before) the pool heater was broken, and it was again. Not a make or break, but disappointing to my girls.

That said, we simply love this hotel. $104 for New Year's Eve.

Spent one night here on the way back from Miami after a cruise. Chose this hotel because of a free stay with Priority Club points. Did not take advantage of any amenities or even stay for breakfast as we were up early and back on the road. Check-in was very quick and efficient as we beat the evening rush. Location is good and there are a lot of hotels to choose from in this area. The ony negative seemed to be the condition of the furnishings which looked a little worn but the bed was comfortable. The room was very quiet , clean, and the shower had great water pressure.Would I stay here again, probably.

This is a nice hotel, and looks to be recently renovated. The beds were comfortable (we had a room with two queens), and we appreciated the NO smoking and NO PETS policy, since we have allergy issues and so many hotels have no restrictions on pets being brought in. (Rendering us sniffling and sneezing and wheezing all night because of past guests and their furry kids.)
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The only negative I can say about the experience was that the indoor pool was not heated, and so being November, it was *way* too cold to enjoy -- even being indoors. The kids were really looking forward to using the pool.

My family stayed at this hotel for a stop-over on our drive up north. The rooms were a nice size for a family of 4 and was very clean. The hotel looks like it was remodeled in the past year as you can tell in the corners of the walls in the room and the bathroom. The hotel is convenient to I-95 so it makes it a good spot for people going back and forth to Florida. Ann, who was working the pantry/kitchen was very accommodating and friendly. She made sure the eggs, coffee and pancake mix was filled with a quickness. I have been been to many Holiday Inn Express hotels and she kept the food hot and plentiful than most of the other hotels. This hotel is also near Savannah Airport and a nearby corporate business park. For less than $100 for the night and includes free breakfast, I would definitely visit this hotel again.

Could be a lot better, but they went wiht low dollar bid and the sheet rock is cracking, tape is popping out, tiles in pool are uneven and look crappy.

Breakdfast was fine, how could you screw up premade everything? People were nice and frinedly and the outside look very nice.

Room Tip: away from the lifts!
