“Awsome resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Rooms are gorgeous, service is wonderful, very elegant and relaxing. The Chateau is the best place to stay on the property. We had our 10 and 12 year old with us, the only thing I did not like was the indoor pool for them; too small and surrounding area was not the cleanest. We were told the indoor pool by the spa was for the spa users only. We hear the outdoor pool is very popular; we may return in the summer months to check that out.

Room Tip: For comfort and relaxation, the Chateau is the best place. Very romantic. Very large.

Our room was lovely and service was very good. Meals were delicious. I visited the spa and enjoyed my massage from "Autumn" very much! It was however more pricey than a number of other spas I have been to.
My main suggestion is to have "guide information pamphlets" available in the rooms to acquaint guests better with their rooms (A/C or heat) and the resort.

Room Tip: I am sure all the rooms are very nice.

We were two couples taking a short vacation. We enjoyed the spa, the sporting clays, the pool, the fitness area and especially the food service. Every meal we had was delicious. I especially appreciated the "never empty" coffee cup and water glass.
Everyone on the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. I only wish we had more time to enjoy other activities on this large property, but that just means we will have to return.
Although this is a very large facility it felt much smaller. The shuttle service meant we didn't need to take our car everywhere we went, and this too was a well run operation.
As to the renovations that are going on, yes they were unexpected but everything was being done to lessen any impact on the guests.

The Chateau at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort embodies a gracious, relaxed elegance on one of the most breathtaking properties in the Northeast. We were greeted by cheerful and welcoming staff from the moment we exited our vehicle until the day we departed! Nemacolin represents the same exacting standards of many of the five star hotels that we have had the pleasure of experiencing in our travels.
With the abundance of opportunities offered at Nemacolin and the surrounding area, our only regret is there was not enough time to enjoy everything. The spa is on our list of priorities for the next trip. We will return often to this serene oasis as it has become our new go-to respite. Our next visit has already been scheduled and reserved!

Room Tip: Our king room in the Chateau was lovely. We were told that some redecorating was scheduled to occur...

Nemacolin is a GORGEOUS place to visit. There is a lot to do or just a great place to relax. (Also a lot of activities within driving distance).
I did the zip line, the Safari tour, the casino and a massage. I will point out that the $135 massage was no different than the one I get at home for $60...but you do get to use the pool, whirlpool and the sauna. We were there on business so most of our food was catered. I was very disappointed in the catered food, I'm sure the restaurant food is excellent. Be sure to bring a lot of money because everything is outrageously overpriced.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Chateau which was fantastic, but heard that all the other rooms were great as well.

The resort holds great promise....wonderful golf course, almost every activity you can think of, and many restaurants on site. Our visit was compromised by the $30 million renovation. Wait to stay there until the renovation is complete. When making my reservations I was not told of the renovation and it was an issue. Parking was an issue, lots of mud and construction in the parking area. Getting around in the building was an issue, a maze of electrical wires and temporary walls. Finding where to go was an issue, the map was confusing and the construction in the building complicated navigation to areas of the resort.. On the bright side, the shuttle service staff was very helpful, the front desk manager was great, and the golf staff was wonderful. However, the check in clerk was not excited to be there and did not instill a sense of joy in me to be there either. I would definitely not stay in the townhomes as they are very outdated and dark although the Chateau was beautiful. I greatly appreciated the art found in every corner of the resort as well as the small collections and vignettes. The golf course was beautiful and not for the faint of heart. You will find a lot of hills, water and rock outcroppings.

Room Tip: After the renovation is completed, stay in a private home or in the Chateau....not in the townhomes.

We recently stayed at Nemacolin Woodlands on a special deal called "Cabin Fever" and were so impressed with all facets of the facility. First of all, we were paying only 1/3 of the regular price, but were treated to first class accomodations! The grounds are beautiful, the room was magnificent (with a 12 foot high tray ceiling with a lovely chandelier), the dinner was delicious and we were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine and dessert to celebrate our special day. Every employee that we came in contact with was extra pleasant and helpful! This is resort that knows how to treat the customer like a king or queen!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Chateau where the rooms are large and beautiful!
