“Business trip stay every 3 weeks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

I have been staying at the Embassy Suties since it was the Tremont Plaza. During construction time it was a bit rough, but now that the transition has been completed is has been great. I especially enjoy the reception hours after a long hard day at work. The bar staff there is wonderful especially Leslie. I arrive on Sunday nights and make a quick trip for a nightcap. Leslie is there, welcoming and delightful to chat with. There are a number of us who meet in the lounge area after work and the atmosphere is perfect for unwinding. I have ordered food from the Bistro many nights and I have not been disappointed.
My one complaint is the elevator service which can be spotty. This last trip I was on the 35th floor and had to wait a long time to get an elevator. I have had many different rooms there; from the 2 bedrood suite to a room with 2 queens. The beds are comfortable. I wish the TV
had more choices. I always look forward to the discovery of new "latest" room. I would recommend this location.

Room Tip: The higher up the longer the wait for elevators, but the quieter the room. There are only about 9 r...

Special rates for those in need of affordable proximity to patients at Mercy. Complimentary shuttle back & forth to Hospital much appreciated - Nothing more could have been done to make a trying time easier. Highly recommended - will be a guest there as often as needed.

My son who is a gold member booked a room with 2 queen beds for one night so we could be close to Johns Hopkins Medical Ctr. The hotel is about 1.5 miles from JH. Surprisingly we were given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite (1 king bed & 1 queen) complete with a living room and dining room with a kitchen that had a large refrigerator, coffee pot & toaster. There were 2 bathrooms one with a walk in shower. The queen bedroom had a nice walk in closet. Beds were comfortable.

We arrived about 9 pm & were leaving fairly early for the medical appointment so didn't have much time to check out the hotel. The hotel had a nice fitness center but we didn't use. It also had an outdoor pool that was closed. The personnel at check in were great & very helpful. They provided us with a local map when we asked about directions. The breakfast was very good with cooked to order omelets, oatmeal & a large choice of the usual breakfast items.

Our suite was very good & had a few small issues. The carpeting had some large stains and the lighting could have been brighter. Only 1 of the lights over the dining room table had light bulbs in them. One of the bedroom lamps was missing a lightbulb. As others have said the hotel is not on the harbor. It seemed to be in a quieter area. I'd definitely think about using this hotel again if we need to return.

The Tremont Hotel has a fresh new look under the Embassy Suites flag. Employees are very anxious to please their guests. The restaurant area is nice. Public areas for corporate or other entertaining are great. Do not miss the historical corridor rich in the history of this well located architectural gem. Very clean and close to everything in Baltimore tourist area.

I have been staying at this hotel almost every week for the past couple of months. I absolutely love this place. The rooms are nice and brand new. The breakfast is really great. The happy hour is fantastic - I even have a favorite bartender Leslie! She is really nice - great service - a wonderful person. In fact, all the staff is great, helpful, friendly, always welcoming.

A typical Embassy Suites with its assorted plusses and minuses. On the plus side- we all liked having large rooms with the kitchenettes that probably no one used. The breakfast is popular if you are not a picky eater. The evening reception is the highlight. One the down side- some of the rooms are renovated but some are not. Be prepared with some disgusting carpets (mine has multiple stains) and scratched furniture in the unrenovated rooms. (Yes, I am going to tell the manager before I leave!)
Since there are 37floors, plan to leave extra time coming and going as the elevator wait always seems long.
We had a business engagement and used the historic venue. Its fabulous. Well appointed, clean, none of that hotel conference room smell. The staff in the venue side were wonderful. On the hotel side, I found them noisy and annoying. There is no staff elevator so you will always be squeezing in with a parade of people. In fact one trip in the crowded elevator I had to stand next to a guy with a paint can lid and wet paint brush- obviously going to touch up something but he was a bit too close to my business suit for my comfort. The maids in the halls and cleaning rooms are also very loud.
When i checked in i was given an 09 room. It was right behind the elevator. The elevators are loud so I could hear every trip up and down. I got moved. beds are nice. The location is not in the Inner harbor, but its about a ten minute walk.
Wifi is free except on the venue side. The venue side is all marble so do not expect to use your wireless devices. Good for business meetings where you want people paying attention.

Dear CSSnowshoer,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. Your comments about the guest room furnishings is certainly not indicative of the amenities we strive to offer here. While we don't always get it perfect, when given the opportunity we typically make it right! We understand that our elevators can be slow when commuting throughout the hotel, however, we will be sure to reiterate that our staff be mindful of using the elevator during peak times. If given another opportunity, we hope to welcome you back for a much improved experience.

This is a excellent place to stay. The rooms are good. I like the suites and have stayed here few times and like the fact that all rooms are different which is nice. The happy hour arrangement is really nice with some good wines served. Lislie is great at the bar. She suggests nice drinks and is very warm with all customers.Breakfast is also good.
