“Loved my stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2008

Stayed here over the labor day weekend and really enjoyed it. I think it has the best location of any hotel in Baltimore (directly across the street from the main harbor attractions) and most things were within walking distance. The staff was fast and helpful (especially the nice Filipino man at the check in desk), and the beds were comfortable with tons and tons of pillows as far as the eye could see. I liked the turn down service and chocolate mint, getting tucked in like that is a level of service and hospitality that I am not used to. The view was amazing and only surpassed by the beauty of my wonderful girlfriend. I would stay here again!! I wish they had hotels like this in Kansas, I like how you east coasters live!!

  • Liked — Convenient location, amazing view, excellent service
  • Disliked — Too many pillows? almost smothered myself by accident

We stayed at this hotel over the Labor Day weekend for 2 nights, 3 days. The hotel is perfectly situated and our room 8024 had a fantastic view of the Inner Harbor. The room was spacious, clean and properly stocked with towels, etc, and had a very comfortable bed and six pillows.

Most of all, this hotel had the best staff ever. From the valet, bellhops, front desk, concierge, chambermaids, restaurant and chefs, and anyone who worked on the property. Everyone was there to make certain you had whatever you needed and to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Whoever hires for this hotel is to be complimented.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

we stayed at this hotel for a conference. the room was large for the 3 of us. the location was great, across the street from the inner harbor. if you don't want to eat breakfast at the hotel u can eat at Johnny rockets down the street or there is a place that called something like 24 hour breakfast. they were closed on sat. morning when we left. the gym at the hotel was great. I would also recommend the
Walters museum. Some have posted that it is a 15-20 minute walk but it is uphill. We took a cab both ways and it was inexpensive. (it was raining)

Had an overnight at this hotel before taking out son to a college visit. First of all the beds were fabulous. Pillow top mattresses and clean washed duvet covers instead of bedspreads.
Best of all the price. This hotel list on most sites for 359. for this night. We got it from priceline for $100.00. what a deal!
Parking was way too expensive.

  • Liked — bedding, price

This 4 star hotel has a location that can not be beat. The room was large and the bathroom was very large. For a 4 star hotel, however, I was not impressed. The lobby was not impressive, nor was the room decor. Very middle of the road. Our room smelled of smoke, and we were told to have the ionizer brought in we would have to vacate the room for an hour. The set of elevators was not enough to service the entire hotel. Many times we would have to wait for the second or third elevator to come just so we can fit in it. Additionally, the elvators were not air conditioned. If you can get a great rate, its worth it, though, for the location alone. The staff was friendly enough.

  • Liked — location
  • Disliked — slow elevators, room smelled of smoke

If you are visiting Baltimore's Inner Harbor, it's be tough to beat the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. It's a first class hotel with first class service and accommodations. It is expensive. I got a good deal via a Marriott Rewards member email. Note that valet parking is $36 a night as of this writing. Yes, that is competitive with other hotels in the area, but it's still outrageous. Some self serve public parking garages in the area are $7 for over night parking.

  • Liked — Great location
  • Disliked — The expensive valet parking.

Took a side trip to Baltimore from DC Stayed on July 2nd for 1 day. Paid extra for a Inner harbor view which was fantastic. the hotel was steps to the inner harbor & a reasonable walk to Camden Yards. Service was great and the room was nice & clean but obviously not a new Renaissance. Did not appreciate the $36.00 valet parking fee. The front desk recommended the Blue Sea Grill which was disappointing. Overall it was up to expectations.
Don't miss the Aquarium!!
