“Great location, staff and ambiance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

My husband and I stayed at The Renaissance Harborplace 8/10-11 while celebrating our anniversary. The lobby is beautiful and although there were many people trying to check in at 4:30 on a Friday, the staff was very efficient and courteous. There was a charming man in the lobby offering fresh popped organic seasoned popcorn, a very nice touch. Our room was very clean, modern and comfortable. We ran into a housekeeper while trying to find the pool and she was very friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks outside the lobby and from the 5th floor is connected to The Gallery Mall. We were able to walk to dinner and enjoy the Inner Harbor without having to move our car, it was wonderful!

The only two negative points- one there is not free wi-fi in the rooms. I find this ridiculous considering free wi-fi is everywhere! The second is that we planned on room service for breakfast and after calling for 15 minutes (8 calls), no one answered. We were really looking forward to lounging in our room but had to get ready and leave to get brunch. Even with those minor problems, we will probably choose Harborplace again. It's a lovely hotel.

My adult daughter and I stayed here 2nts 10-12AUG for a fun weekend trip together. The Renaissance is ideally situated across the street from Baltimore's Inner Harbor, with a walkway over traffic connecting the hotel to the Pratt St Pavilion. Hotel is also attached to The Gallery Mall. As a Marriott Platinum member, I was delighted to be given a choice of 12th floor Club level or 9th floor harborview room - chose the view, glad I did! The frontside was a window wall overlooking the harbor with a panoramic view, fantastic! The room was spacious, bath was sizeable and clean with Aveda bath amenities. We still had Club access; full breakfast is served on weekends, social hours are only Mon-Thurs with adult/other beverages and snacks served. Concierge - several of them - were quick with info and valuable tips for eating, shopping and sightseeing. Drawbacks: noise - between 12midnight - 3am, returning guests were shouting and partying in the halls. I should have called the front desk, but just as I thought it had ended, a new rude crew returned. This hotel needs to have security patrolling the hallways late at night to school such ignorant people. Indoor Pool: it's small, was crowded with families so we didn't get to use it. And elevators: I agree with the previous review - must allow plenty of time, especially descending in the morning. We waited while multiple full elevators passed, couldn't get on. I waited about 5mins for the elevator up from the garage when I checked in; when we left, we just walked down the ramp to avoid that. Also - Starbucks in the lobby closes at 230pm (:-( . There is another located in the mall. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, would likely stay here again but would request a quieter room at checkin, along with some Security oversight to corral obnoxious guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level room at end of hall, away from elevators.

The location was great for a baseball game, aquarium, and sightseeing. Parking garage allows come/go and extended hours which was nice. The room was very nice and clean. The only problem was it seemed only one elevator worked, which left it constantly delayed and full. We mostly used the stairs but it was annoying on floor 7. otherwise a great stay.

My review is only based on a one night stay. The location is great, right across the street from inner harbor and attached to a the Harbor Place Gallery Shopping Mall. The Hotel room was clean and we enjoyed the close proximity of local spots. We even walked to the Lexington Market and got some great crab cakes at Faidley's Seafood. The bellman and front dorr staff were great and always very helpful and happy.

Currently staying in a room on the 8th floor facing the harbor. Absolutely beautiful and perfect location. Hard Rock Cafe, National Aquarium, Federal Hill, Camden Yards, Fells Point all within walking distance. Park in the parking garage under the hotel which is $28 a day. The hotel is attached to the Gallery shopping and there is a bridge crossing Pratt st to even more shopping and the Harbor. Very worth every penny.

My husband, one year old and I stayed here for a weekend and absolutely loved it!

From the moment we arrived, everyone from the valet, check-in, housekeeping and everyone else we encountered were friendly and helpful.

We arrived very early (8:30 am) and were given our keys for check-in (we were planning on not getting an early check-in and just going on our way with site seeing) so this was a great pleasant surprise. Our room was very nice and up-to-date.

I think the two best features for this hotel are 1.) LOCATION: this hotel is right in the middle of the harbor and either a short walk across the street or walk over the sky walk. We took a very short walk to the National Aquarium and a short walk to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. The location is a major convenience because you are so close to everything happening on the harbor, dining and entertainment. 2.) GALLERY MALL: this was so nice! Just a turn off the lobby and you have a four story mall with great shopping and some quick dining options. With having a little one, it was nice to take advantage of this for something quick to eat or a nice inside activity during the rain.

I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the best hotel option at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The service, hotel quality and location can't be beat. We will be back in the spring!

Room Tip: 7th floor and higher offer WONDERFUL views of the harbor!

I've stayed here many times and have never been disappointed in the service and amenities. The location is excellent, with many wonderful restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. The National Aquarium is across the street, and the football and baseball stadiums are nearby as well if the Ravens or Orioles are playing at home. The concierge lounge is very good for breakfast, dinner, and dessert. The beds are quite comfortable, and the walls are above average for preventing noise from adjacent rooms. The staff is excellent and always remember me here. The fitness center is decent, with several cardio and weight machines along with dumbbells. I've stayed in a few other hotels in the downtown Inner Harbor area, and this is by far my favorite. TIP: Walk across the street to UNO's during happy hour for dinner for some great food at excellent prices.
