3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2010

If you plan on going to a game at the Stadium, this hotel would be a good choice. Other than that, its location is not suited for easily getting to/from the Inner Harbor and downtown. To walk to Inner Harbor you would have to walk on or under a major overpass (and there didn't appear to be a sidewalk), through an industrial area. With kids, it wasn't doable and I usually love walking in cities. That was disappointing. The hotel shuttle runs every hour and you have to reserve a time. That was a pain. So instead of leaving my car at the hotel (which I usually do when traveling to a city and this hotel charged $10 to use their lot), I had to drive into the city and pay to park (an additional $20 when all said and done). If you plan on going to downtown attractions, I would encourage you to pay the extra for a hotel that is centrally located so you can leave your car and walk or access the public transportation w/o any hassle. Other than the bum location, the hotel was decent w/ friendly staff. Breakfast bar was better than most places and the room was comfortable.

I stayed at this establishment prior to a cruise leaving from Baltimore. The staff is very courteous, friendly, and efficient. My room was great. Only two small negatives. The temperature of the water in the shower was not as warm as I like it. The shuttle service was okay, with some slight improvement needed. If you need a shuttle during the times that guests are being transported to cruise terminals, you may have to wait or take a taxi. Coming back from the cruise, it was cold outside and we had to wait about 45 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up and several phone calls were made. The continental breakfast was nice. I appreciated using the business center, which was helpful. The secured parking was terrific too. This is a well run, great hotel, and I look forward to a future stay.

This place rocks. It's only 2-3 blocks from the stadium. It was clean and the staff was overly polite! The parking was a little tight but that is expected for downtown Baltimore. I had a pleasant stay and will go back again. I think the room was $120.00 for two Queens.

Imagine just pulling your top over your head and having some strange man walk in to your room. I stayed here for 2 nights so that I could take my husband to watch his beloved Dolphins play football for his birthday. My husband went down to grab us a muffin & coffee, I jumped in to the shower. I was pulling my shirt on over my head when our door opened and some other man with coffee for his wife came walking in. It seems that his key also opened our door. He was just as embarrassed as we were upset. My husband and this stranger both went to the front desk to get the keys reprogrammed. The staff were friendly but unable to fix the problem. The stranger's key still opened our door. Now how would you feel? We asked for a new room - all booked. We waited half an hour for a maintenance man to come up when he said he was going to follow us right up. Was the door fixed? We have no idea, all we could do is sleep with the deadbolt on the door and one eye open. Our tv remote was broken which at first was just an annoyance but after the lock it was just the icing. We will never go back.
Now if the manager replies to this with the standard statement as below, you will know it is computer generated crap.

Well hello and thanks you for letting us know how we cared for you. I see that there were some concerns that you and your husband incountered. First of let me apologize for the trouble you had while you here. The door locks are all programed to respond to the key in which it was made for, but it seems like there was a functioning error that by the way has been corrected. Not sure why my maintencance man responce time was so long but will look into that to insure that it dosn't happen again. We want you to let us know if we don't meet our goal of careing for you. I want you to know that it's a pleasure to service you anytime your travels bring you to Baltimore, so i am say that if you will allow us to better service you please call me directly and we will insure that we do a better job the next time. Once again thanks for staying with us and we look forward to your return. My direct line is 410-727-1818 ext 104

I booked this hotel because we were to attend a game at the Ravens Stadium. Even tho we were really early for checkin we were greeted very friendly and our room was ready within minutes. Deskstaff was the best during our stay there. Very friendly and helpful, especially at night when I was trying to find a place to order dinner from who would deliver with all the chaos around the stadium. The hotel looks really nice inside and out. Our room was very nice as well with everything you would want. Breakfast the next morning was good as well. We used the shuttle to go to the stadium but walked back since it was only a 10-15 minute walk.

People have complained about the neighborhood, well it is a bit run down and you are in the middle of warehouses and what have you but it didn't feel unsafe at all. Parking (10$) was in a secure parking lot.

All in all I would be quite happy to stay here again if only because of the absolutely great staff !

We stayed for one night prior to a cruise. The room was adequate but the staff more than made up for the dated room. We could leave our vehicle at the hotel for the time we were on the cruise and the hotel shuttle was on time and took us to the inner wharf area for a day before the cruise and dinner. Lots of good restaurants and shops, an oasis in Baltimore.
The complementary breakfast was good and appreciated as any other restaurants in the immediate area are sparse.
Our car was in a gated area behind the hotel and left us to enjoy our cruise without worrying about the car.
We cannot say enough about the staff, they were always there, helpful, and unusually cheerful.
We drove in from the north and had some difficulty finding the hotel but once you beat this problem all is great.
All in all an excellent stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

It was a God-send that we discovered the Holiday Inn Express Baltimore at the Stadiums. We enjoyed an overnight stay before departing on our 7-day cruise and were able to leave our car in a secured lot until our return. The staff was delightful and worked well together to see that everyone was shuttled as needed. They cared that we were having the best experience possible.
