We booked one of Celie's harborview rooms for a weekend, but unfortunately, due to some water damage, were moved to Suite 9. Now, normally, an upgrade like this would be welcome, but the suite was little more than a corporate apartment (although have to admit, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the place was very spacious with nice views). The rest of the Inn is tastefully decorated, especially the breakfast room, but the place nevertheless lacks a certain warmth and intimacy that one might expect from such a small bed and breakfast. The breakfast is good (especially the granola), but it's also rather impersonal, especially since they only serve a continental breakfast. At the end of the day, this is probably still one of the most interesting places to stay in the area (and the area is probably the most interesting in Baltimore), but I'm not necessarily sure it's worth the expense.

Very happy with this informal, relaxed but super-comfortable B&B. Amazing value given the incomparable location and nice amenities (good breakfast, fridge with complimentary drinks, bathrobes). Came in on a red-eye from Los Angeles and the very helpful inn-keepers were more than willing to accommodate our request for an early check in (and then later, a late check-out). Place is beautiful and tastefully decorated. Nice outdoor areas. Intimate but private. All the best things about a B&B but none of what I think of as downsides (frilly country-cute decor, over attentive inn-keepers, thin walls). Great experience.

My family and I stayed at Celie's on Friday, April 23rd through the 25th, 2004. We were in suite #8 which was on the second floor and overlooked the harbor where the water taxi is located (which, by the way, you can take anywhere throughout the harbor). It was absolutely wonderful!! One of the nicest places that we have ever stayed!

They brought breakfast right up to our suite. It included fresh bagels, muffins, scones, strawberries, fresh squeezed orange juice and an assortment of cream cheese, butter and jams. We loved it!

If you're looking for a quality place to stay in Inner Harbor/Fells Point and don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a regular Hotel room, then talk to Kevin, Nancy or Sasha for the best place to stay in Fells Point!! We'll be going back there for sure!!!!

Thanks again Kevin, Nancy and Sasha for everything. Hope to see you again soon!!

My husband and I stayed three nights in a harborside room. We took advantage of the wood burning fireplace, window seat and a private, comfortable and spacious room/suite. Kevin, the innkeeper, was a generous host. The location is convenient to many attractions and interesting neighborhoods. We definitely recommend this inn to anyone looking for an urban hideaway.

We stayed at Celie's for 4 days at the end of March 2004. We, coincidentally, also had Atrium #4 as another reviewer did. I will agree with that reviewer's synopsis of the view. It is hardly an "Atrium" view but a third-floor view out into the adjacent room about 6 feet away out of the window. The view of the neighbor's trashy back yard is true, though Celie's can't do much about that. On the plus side... a plus which outweighs the view since we were only sleeping there anyway... is the nice comfortable room and bed, a full set of satellite channels, free local phone calls, coffee/tea/hot chocolate/free sodas in the room, and the included breakfast (of course, since it is a B&B.) They make their own granola (I'm no connoisseur but it is the best granola I've ever had) and something called "apple crisp" which is like an apple cobbler thing... very good.
Celie retired years ago and the place is run by Kevin and his wife (mostly Kevin, according to him!) The place is nicely decorated and has a "home" feel to it, and Kevin can't do enough to help! You can't beat the location, which is about 30 yards from the water taxi stop and the central square in Fell's Point. If I ever go back to Baltimore then I would definitely stay at Celie's again. And while you're there, go to Jimmy's for lunch or dinner. It's not fancy but the food is good, cheap, and plenty of it.
