I had read all the recent reviews on tripadvisor (my hotel bible).
I found it more mixed than I had hoped.

Pluses:
Good size, quiet two-room suite. It was reasonably priced with excellent valet car service. There was a good kitchenette as a bonus. The top floor gave no problems with noise.

Minuses:
I had asked a crib be put in the room twice before we came. When I had to call from the room and ask the third time, the front desk said "Oh, would you like a crib in the suite?". Then I felt like a tip was expected for the 30 seconds it took to assemble. (I generally tip well, but didn't like that I had to ask 3 times).
There was only one temperature control which would have been fine if I had known. The living room and the bedroom were somewhat different and I got up in the middle of night searching for an extra blanket. The linnens and pillows were disappointing too...5 pillows, but all the same - quite uncomfortable.

  • Liked — 2 separate rooms, well-equipped, good valet
  • Disliked — only one "restaurant" within walking distance

Have to agree...this is a super place to stay, especially on business. The breakfast & the gym are very nice and security is pretty tight. Staff is friendly. Try to get a corner room on a high floor. Overall, very comfortable and good location.

I stayed here with my parents while visiting my brother over a weekend in January. The location is good and the staff are acommodating- we had an issue with our reservation and the staff took our word for it, even though it was possibly our mis-understanding.

Our suite faced Light Street, and it is noisy. I'd recommend getting a high floor and asking to stay off of Light and off of Redwood

Breakfasts were crowded, but food continued to be brought out.

Other observations:
- for the "One Bedroom Suite", the bathroom is in the bedroom and not directly accessible for the person staying in the living area on the pull-out sofa.

-The suite is smallish- you have to move all of the furniture in order to pull out the bed.

-Walls are thin- I had to call security due to a loud group of people in the suite next to me.

-We did our own parking in a garage a block away (entrance on Charles St)

We came from Philly to stay overnight and go to the Aquarium. The room was sparkling clean and we were allowed early check-in at 1pm. As always, Marriotts are always beyond expectation, and we had a great stay. There are no fancy views, but the kitchen was great and the bed really comfortable.

We spent 8 days at this hotel in early November after my husband had surgery at Johns Hopkins. We could not have been more pleased. The staff is beyond polite -- they are eager to inquire if there is anything that can do to assist you and they aren't just asking because they've been trained to. The seem to be genuinely nice people who are happy with their jobs and want their guests to be happy, too. We travel quite a bit for business and have never had an experience like this, even in high-end boutique hotels. The hotel is very close to Johns Hopkins (about a five minute drive unless we traveled at peak traffic time) and is about two blocks from all the shops and restaurants of the Inner Harbor area. For the length of time we stayed, and given my husband's surgery, we would not have been nearly as happy at other hotels. For the same price as a single concierge room at the Marriott at the Inner Harbor (which we stayed at on our first trip because it had been recommended to us), we had a two bedroom corner suite with a full (though small) kitchen. That made the pre-surgery diet of jello and juice much easier to handle and also made it easier to make foods that he wanted after the surgery when restaurant food would not have been appealing. The hotel staff will do grocery shopping for you, although for our needs I was able to buy what we needed at the three drugstores within easy walking distance plus surrounding restaurants. It is also about a block from a four-story mini mall with shops like Brooks Brothers and Ann Taylor. The hotel is new and clean and we had absolutely no problems. Staying here made a difficult trip much, much easier and we are grateful for the kindness extended by the Residence Inn Inner Harbor.

  • Liked — Suite with kitchen plus excellent staff
  • Disliked — Two blocks from Inner Habor area
  • Tips/Secrets: — We looked at several hotels in the area and for Johns Hopkins patients, we think this is the best choice
