“This Hotel ROCKS!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

I was recently in Baltimore attending a convention and was told I'd be staying at the Residence Inn. When I arrived, the doormen were attentively directing traffice as they welcomed us to the hotel. The Front Desk staff were quick and efficent and even though we were early, they were able to check our entire group in as they knew a bus was arriving to pick us up at 2:45p. The room was beautiful, spacious and SUPER CLEAN!!! After we came back from our meetings we went to the restaurant where we had some drinks and snacks which were all very tasty. The hotel is walking distance from the convention center, shopping malls, Inner Harbor and several convenience stores (7-11, CVS and Dunkin Donuts). This is great when you want to fill your full sized fridge in the full kitchen. Wired and Wireless internet were easy to use and pleanty of outlets. I can't wait to go back next year.

If you're looking for a very good and reasonable alternative to the much higher priced Baltimore Convention Center hotels, and just a 5 minute walk away, this Residence Inn is among the nicest that I've stayed at. It's a newer property which is exceptionally well staffed. I found front desk service to be polite, quick and thorough. For example, when I needed to buy a bottle of good wine on a late Saturday afternoon (when every wine store is closed on Sunday), they provided all the guidance necessary.

The rooms are large, comfortable and quiet. Internet access is good, and free! I went to breakfast each morning when they opened, thus avoiding the crush of patrons an hour later. It also meant that all the food was freshly cooked and nicely displayed. Service staff was very nice.

The "17 Light" restaurant inside the hotel turns out to be pretty good, especially if you're looking for a menu with diverse choices, including several local items -- and several TV monitors to watch sports events. The servers were, once again, charming and wonderful.

I don't normally stay at Residence Inn but this one will go on my favorites list if I ever have to attend another conference.

Room Tip: Stay on a high floor, away from any modest street noise.

My husband and I own a business so in order to take a break we try to get out of town.....but do not want to break the bank doing so. Baltimore is just under two hours from our home. We checked out the rates and were surprised that we could choose one night only for a room that was so complete and spacious. Though we didn't need it this visit, we had a full and fully equipped kitchen, desk, large flat screen TV, couch and more. The room was very clean and provided many lighting options.

We could easily walk to the Inner Harbor, The Sunday market, the holiday parade and Federal Hill. We initially thought the parking rate was high at $32 but that was for 24 hours of parking and we could have taken the car in and out of the lot without paying more!! The breakfast buffet was amazing. So much food and so many choices.....even hot and strong coffee. We were hooked and would certainly return here on our next visit.

Oh yes, the staff were all so helpful and smiling. No one let off negative vibes and that in itself I felt was a good sign.

Stayed here on my annual free Marriott rewards night but would stay again and pay for it! The hotel location is great, a few blocks from the inner harbor and Little Italy. Large, comfortable, quiet suites with big windows, lots of natural light and well lit with lamps at night. There were two large, flat-screen televisions. The service was surprisingly gracious for a limited service hotel. An adequate, buffet breakfast is included but on a Sunday morning, the dining room was packed with long lines, no available tables and some chaos from coffee and juice dispensers that went empty. There was not quite enough dining staff to keep up with the crowd. This breakfast scene has reduced my rating of the service in spite of a very helpful and warm front desk. The dining room coffee was terrible and undrinkable but there is a Dunkin Donuts almost next door.

Would have offered up a five star rating, but had a few problems. First the room phone did not work, they repaired it while we were out to dinner. Also the toilet would not stop running after each use, after a while we figured out if you pulled the handle back up it would stop. Noisy refrigerator also. So, we did not sleep as well as others have posted. Upon checkout we would have loved if the staff would have let the guests know there was a Veteran's Day parade that was going to close down several streets nearby, we could have easily worked around that if there was a sign posted or any mention by the valet, front desk etc. Instead we had great difficulty getting to our event on time. That being said, the valet service itself was decent and friendly, the front desk although not especially friendly seemed efficient, the breakfast area could be cleaner but the choices were ok. The room itself was large and seemed cleaned which is definitely a high priortiy for us. We were a little disappointed that we did not feel safe wandering the streets in this area looking for dinner, but that may just be how Baltimore is.

Stayed over the Veteran's Day weekend -- there were 7 of us (adult women) sharing 2 of the hotel's studio suites with 2 Queen beds in each. We loved this hotel - the staff were universally helpful, the morning breakfasts were generous and filling (only improvement possible would be to use better quality coffee), and our rooms were especially spacious (over 400 sq ft) and lovely: there was a nice living area, the kitchen was more than adequate, the beds were comfy....and the decor was very classy. A very short (1 1/2 block) walk to the harbor, as well as the various attractions and restaurants around it, make the location really great (and slightly less expensive than hotels immediately on the harbor-front).

We stayed in a 2 queen studio on 8th floor. Clean and comfortable with kitchenette and large flat screen tv. The short walk to the Inner Harbor and the baseball/football stadiums make this hotel a deal compared to hotels right on the Harbor...not to mention the free hot breakfast. We did lots of shopping and ran out of time to see everything we wanted...next time! Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved the convenience of the next door CVS and Dunkin Donuts. The hotel bar and restaurant is a great place for a nightcap. Only negative is the $32 valet parking fee but this is standard for Marriott properties. We have stayed at the Renaissance and the Sheraton but for the value the Residence Inn is now our favorite when we visit Baltimore :)
