“Why the rave reviews?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Are people giving this 4 and 5 stars because they were surprised that a restaurant at an airport hotel didn't suck? Because the food was fine, but it definitely does not rock. More like easy-listening elevator music. The "cucumber wrapped salad" looked interesting, but had the flavor of a handful of pre-washed greens from a bag, and the dressing was grocery-store shelf average. Crab cakes were very good, lots of jumbo lump meat, but a bit heavy handed on the sauce - two of these would have been gag inducing.

The night we were there (8/10/12) the service was very slow. 10-15 minutes without water or menus - apparently our waitress wasn't informed we were in her area, though it's not that big and we weren't hidden from view. But things didn't seem to pick up much from there - the meal ended up taking over two hours, and not because we're leisurely eaters, There was just lots of down time between visits by the wait staff. There were at least four of them, and they appeared to be more interested in hanging out in the back talking to each other than visiting their tables. Make sure you leave plenty of time if you're on the way to the airport - or anywhere else that evening.

“Hotel restaurant delivered surprisingly delicious crab cakes!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012 via mobile

Staying near the airport can be a dining challenge, but the 4 points has a hidden restaurant that served up two great orders of broiled crab cakes. The bread basket served before dinner had a wonderful dark bread. The lack of customers gave us some concern when we arrived, but the seating was comfy and the service attentive.

“After a flight, this was sheer delight!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We had dinner at Micheners on Friday night after picking up our daughter from her flight and before heading out on a two hour drive. We wanted a restaurant with good food, a relaxing and inviting atmosphere, not noisy and near the airport so that we wouldn't waste time. Found Micheners after looking up possibilities, and it met all the above criteria! Minutes from the airport in the Sheraton, it was located downstairs and we knew we had struck it lucky as soon as we entered. Roomy, pleasant and welcoming staff. A great table and wonderful varied menu started us off on a good foot, and it continued through to coffee and dessert. And yes, the crab cakes are all that they claimed.....must try if you go there!

“Nice place to relax the night before an early flight out.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

Have been here several times, as we use the hotel whenever we fly out of BWI. We like to just sit in the comfy leather captains chairs and chill with a cold adult beverage and maybe an appetizer. Have not eaten a meal here, so I can't comment on that but the Maryland Crab Velvet soup is the best!!! Atmosphere is nice too.

“The Crab cakes ROCK! Service is fantastic.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2012

I had the crab cakes twice - they are full of crab meat, just enough filler to hold them together and that is it. I love a good crab cake but am generally very disappointed by a bread filled crab cake. These are truly amazing, they will flash freeze them so you can take them home and I am taking some home for dinner for my family. Caesar Salad was excellent as well, all the lettuce was fresh and crisp! Service was wonderful, the staff is so friendly. I was very surprised by the quality of this hotel restaurant!
