We have lived in Baltimore 15 years and never get tired of Faidley's. In addition to the best crab cakes and raw oysters in Baltimore, Faidley's provides a unique Baltimore cultural experience. If you are from Connecticut or the Upper East Side of NYC, plan to go somewhere else in Baltimore - you will really not enjoy or appreciate Faidley's. Most everyone else should enjoy a visit to an earlier time. There is no seating. You will be leaning against one of several stand-up counters or the oyster bar. Old-man Bill can tell you anything you want to know about crabs and will be glad to pack up a batch of crab cakes in dry ice for the trip home. Much-younger Will shucks oysters and can tell you about some of the interesting personalities who visit Faidley's and the Lexington Market. Be sure to stroll around the market after (preferably not before!!) lunch and take in the butcher and fruit stands. I would strongly recommend against buying anything there (the Market, not Faidley's).
