“Greek delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

This family-run establishment definitely didn't disappoint.

The food was delicious and fresh. We started with a grilled octopus salad. Octopus can be rather tricky to prepare properly and this dish was cooked to perfection. The whole fish was delicious as well, although the table-side filet process may be user-variable. The fish was simply prepared and clearly fresh. Be prepared for your first choice possibly not being available- though to me this is a sign they emphasize quality purchases over quantity.

The atmosphere was pleasantly charming - feels like someone's backyard. They could have been a bit better prepared for nightfall - several candles would have gone a long way.

The service was pleasant and unobtrusive; the cost of the meal was reasonable given the freshness of product and quality of preparation.

Definitely a great find - highly recommend checking it out.

“Terrific Greek food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

A charming family place serving terrific fish entrees. And this is one time you won't feel guilty about eating the bread, since they make it themselves with a unique recipe.

“Amazing fish and seafood - must go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

Terrific fresh fish and seafood restaurant in warm cozy restaurant. We were a party of 12 and had a lovely private room. There are fresh fish cases with the fish/seafood on ice which the waiter describes to the guests. We ordered 3 seafood appetizer combos which were fabulous - mussels, clams, lobster, octopus, scallops etc. everyone ordered a different meal. My son had one of the "whole fish" choices and my husband said his fish was the best he ever had anywhere in the world. Everyone loved their dinner and REALLY good service.

“Great Food & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Black Olive is located right in the heart of Fell's Point, a fun market area right on the water. The food is great. They give a 'tour' of the fish they are serving for the evening which is neat to see! I recommend the stuffed calamari appetizer. One member of our party had to leave soon after arriving and when told the situation, the entire staff made sure we received apps quickly so he could enjoy before leaving. Very fun spot!

“A bit overated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

Not as good as the reviews. Food was ok. Service was good and atmosphere was very nice but for the money it was not a great value.
There are better choices.
