Serving world class seafood and Greek specialties using the finest organic ingredients. Specializing in whole fish filleted table side. Extensive wine list selections and private wine cellar dining to complement the bold flavors of Executive chef Pauline Spiliadis who bakes the best bread daily. You will be transformed from the cobblestone streets of one of America's first seaports to a a Greek island. The tender octopus and the grilled stuffed calamari have developed a cult like following. It is clear that the special relationships with the world of winemakers brings selections that are not found many places in the world. “A place to relax and enjoy good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We continue to go back to the Black Olive for every family celebration...it is low key and yet has healthy and well prepared food....while they specialize in fish which is imported daily....they also have lamb and beef. They know which wine would go with your meal and the service is excellent and not fawning. It is a bit expensive but we know we are getting quality. It is pleasant to sit in the back garden in the warm weather or the back room for more privacy. It is a place we take out of town visitors.

“A fantastic Greek surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We just loved every feature of this nice family owned Greek restaurant. The service was great, the place well decorated and quiet, and the food, my oh my, finger licking good as some great Captain used to say. A must have in dwntown Baltimore.

“Excellent Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My husband and I ate at the Black Olive recently to celebrate my fifth marathon. Our server was exceptional and went out of her way to make sure we were enjoying our meal, but at the same time, gave us our time to talk and savor our experience. They truly specialize in Mediterranean cuisine. We will definitely be back.

“very good fish at a premium price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Very atmospheric small restaurant on a cobblestone street that could be two hundred years old if not for the parked cars. Fresh fish is the mainstay and is very good but you pay a high price for the fish and salad. Has a greek theme. Expect to pay with drinks over $160

“fantastic food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

we decided to go for my birthday this year. i read several reviews that were mixed but just decided to go for it. i'm so glad we did. this was a small and cozy place. our waiter directed us to the regular menu and specials, and then told us about the fish bar. we definitely went that route. so cool to walk over and see all the different fish and how they are prepared. we had an excellent dinner. food was a little pricey but worth it. vegetables were organic and everything is basically farm to table. would highly recommend and definitely return.
