We've been to a handful of restaurants in Little Italy, and Germano's is by far our favorite. Our waitress for the evening, Nicole, was incredibly helpful in regards to recommendations on both food and wine, and made sure that we were well taken care of. The restaurant is split between a bar area and a small dining room. When we walked in, we found someone slicing fresh charcuterie right in front of us. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and seems equally appropriate for a romantic date night or for a dinner with friends.
We started with the tartufo bianco, and enjoyed it immensely. The pizzette was light and not too oily, and the flavors combined well. We then got a handful of small plates to split. The caesar salad was delightful, and the dressing in particular was top-notch. the Gnocchi e Gamberi was very rich, but not overpowering, and both the gnocchi and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The Peperone Ripieno is always a fantastic choice, and did not disappoint this time - the balsamic vinegar matches wonderfully with the richness of the ricotta and the bright, slight sweetness of the pepper. Finally, the fresh beet ravioli was delicious, the sauce was tasty and the mushrooms served as an excellent complement. We had already made other dessert plans so we did not get to test out that particular menu, but we fully intend on coming by for drinks and dessert some evening soon. If you're looking for someplace to take a date or want to share some small plates with a group, you can't go wrong with Germano's.
