Description: Germano Fabiani has sparked a renaissance in Little Italy with his newest venture, Germano's PIATTINI (small plates), a contemporary Italian kitchen and bar and upstairs cabaret, with a small plates and paired brews menu that excites the palate and offers something for every taste. Germano has turned the 200 year old establishment into a "terzo", a home away from home and work. Our scrumptious menu—try the Tartufo Bianco (white truffle pizza), Carciofi Fritti (Prosecco battered fried long stem artichokes) and Polpette Kobe (Kobe beef meatballs)-- is allergy aware (we are a nut-free facility) and includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options...full bar and wine list and wines by the glass (3 oz. & 6 oz.), beers by the bottle and a selection of draft IPA’s, stouts, ales/pils, seasonals /wheats and imports on rotation, creative cocktails, and our continued commitment to bring you an outstanding lineup of cabaret--jazz, opera, urban folk, bluegrass, theater, Broadway and more— In the upstairs Cabaret, in speakeasy style, Germano's PIATTINI offers “dinner and a show,”featuring jazz, bluegrass, opera, indie music, theater and, of course, cabaret. The Cabaret opens at 6pm for pre-show dining. Performances begin at 7:30pm unless otherwise indicated. Inquire about cover charge. Performances are for dining patrons only. Please note that while dinner reservations can be made over the phone or online, you are only guaranteed a seat in the Cabaret upon the purchase of your ticket. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the venue. The Gastropub seats 40 among high-top tables and bar. Renovations include original brick façade and terrazzo brass-inlaid floor. The stunning bar, charcuterie station and tables are constructed of repurposed barnwood with wrought iron hinges and are glass topped with copper fittings. A hand-carved Amish ladder floats above the bar, converted for bar utility. The Barn Room is located on the first level and seats 22 with the focal point a vintage hand-turned spindled marble Chef’s Table. The walls and floor are made of repurposed wood from a red Amish barn and are complemented by hand painted murals. The Tuscan Room seats 50, with exposed brick walls and original Tuscan frescoes; uncurtained windows welcome the pageantry of Little Italy. The Cabaret seats 90 and is outfitted with an in-tune Yamaha G-1 baby grand and sound system. Vintage posters and artwork from the owner’s personal collection adorn the walls of the restaurant. Germano's PIATTINI's Private Dining Team works diligently with event managers to craft memorable on-premises dining experiences for clients and their guests. For more information about special seasonal menus and suggested wine and beer pairings, contact the venue. Germano's PIATTINI has earned a reputation for creating unique and delicious dining experiences. For a full listing of the venue's culinary, performance and visual arts events, visit the website.

“A nice, cozy space for dinner and drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2015

We've been to a handful of restaurants in Little Italy, and Germano's is by far our favorite. Our waitress for the evening, Nicole, was incredibly helpful in regards to recommendations on both food and wine, and made sure that we were well taken care of. The restaurant is split between a bar area and a small dining room. When we walked in, we found someone slicing fresh charcuterie right in front of us. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and seems equally appropriate for a romantic date night or for a dinner with friends.

We started with the tartufo bianco, and enjoyed it immensely. The pizzette was light and not too oily, and the flavors combined well. We then got a handful of small plates to split. The caesar salad was delightful, and the dressing in particular was top-notch. the Gnocchi e Gamberi was very rich, but not overpowering, and both the gnocchi and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The Peperone Ripieno is always a fantastic choice, and did not disappoint this time - the balsamic vinegar matches wonderfully with the richness of the ricotta and the bright, slight sweetness of the pepper. Finally, the fresh beet ravioli was delicious, the sauce was tasty and the mushrooms served as an excellent complement. We had already made other dessert plans so we did not get to test out that particular menu, but we fully intend on coming by for drinks and dessert some evening soon. If you're looking for someplace to take a date or want to share some small plates with a group, you can't go wrong with Germano's.

“Beautiful 2nd floor dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2015

We had a group of 8 and just finished a long day at a medical conference and began our journey for dinner near the Marriott Waterfront. We checked many local places but all were booked with a long wait line. Someone in our party found Germano's and what a find it was!

We were warmly greeted like entering home of family. For our group, they guided us to the 2nd floor where there were at least 2 dining areas. A private party was in one area and we had the other to ourselves. It was intimate with a warm decor of Italy.

Service was great and all enjoyed terrific meals and some specials suggested by our server. Definitely will be back at my next stop in Baltimore.

Grazie,
Greg

“Good dinner options”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2015

Great food, friendly host, never got to do the eating/watching a show combo, but that must be an awesome treat.

Service is friendly, but not very attentive. Dessert options don't live up to the standard of the appetizers and entrees.

That being said... some of the great dishes include the charcuterie options, wild mushroom bruschetta, red beet ravioli, braised pork with egg, and the kobe beef meatball pasta.

All in all, Germano's Piattini is certainly one of the better restaurants in Little Italy.

“I couldn't wait to come back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2015 via mobile

I live in NY, but I was here in Oct. visiting my brother who had just moved to the area. We were checking out restaurants and decided to stop here for dinner. The food was so delicious that when my husband took the trip with me on our way down south earlier this week, I told him we had to eat here. Since I loved the risotto with lobster last time, my husband took my advice and ordered it. We also got the crab cakes. They were delicious! We also had the chef's selection antipasti. We had such a wonderful meal that when I asked my family where they wanted to eat tonight on our ride back up north, they all agreed we need to stop here again. I'm in North Carolina right now, but we made reservations for tonight so we can have something to look forward to on our ride back up! We can't wait!
