“One of the most interesting dishes I've ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

First, I am a local. Federal Hill is a great spot outside the tourist trap harbor and a very short walk away. We went here before the game last night and had an excellent meal. The restaurant's atmosphere is good, nothing to write home about. The service was fine, nothing to complain about. The food was excellent. They start you with three salsas that were excellent, especially the chipolte and green salsa. The main course is where I was blown away. I had a bacon wrapped pork loin in a habanara sauce with sweet potato mash and red chard. This was a perfect combination of food. I could eat this every day. We also had their steak fajitas which had a great spice to them. Beer menu was good, margaritas were excellent, and I will definitely be going back.

“Good food, excellent atmosphere, terrible parking.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Great hand made margaritas. Burritos (steak and chicken) were authentic but somewhat bland. Mole was sweet and chocolaty, but not enough chili flavor. Atmosphere is very nice. Our server was inexperienced and didn't know the menu well.

“Great Tequila!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We went to the Blue Agave on a whim after driving past it on Light St. We thought we would check it out and were glad we did. We only went for drinks, so I cannot comment on the food.

The drinks were excellent! The bartender (I can't remember her name) recommended the the spicy Guavarita which was "different", but really really good! I also tried a tequila flight of Don Julio, Milagro & Ocho which was decently priced for the amount of tequila you got to try. The bartender was very attentive and gave us a tequila lesson when we asked questions like "What's the difference between blanco, resposado & anejo?" A guy, who I assume was the owner, also talked to us about the different tequilas and told us about the happy hour specials they have.

Overall, great bar, chips & salsa, and staff. We will be returning very soon!

“Great mexican food in Baltimore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

We had a great dinner in the Federal Hill area of Baltimore. Off the beaten path of the touristy inner-harbor. Our waitress brought us chips and salsa - 3 kinds. Pico, tomatillo and chipotle - all great! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a tasty meal. Prices were average. Didn't try any tequila, but I understand they have over 130 varieties!

“Great happy hour specials! Great spicy guava margaritas!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We stopped in around 4pm on a Friday in June and sat in the bar area. Only a few others in the bar the whole time. We decided to order off the happy hour menu. $1.75 tacos were quite big (we got pork, steak, fish and avocado) and $4 avocado fries. Food was good! Spicy guava margaritas ($5 for happy hour) were really good! They had the tequila infusing with the peppers right there at the bar. Service was good. Cute Mexican-themed decor, too. I would definitely go again on a future trip to Baltimore.
