“Get the fresh whole fish!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Pricey indeed, but you get what you pay for.

Skip the non-seafood appetizers and extra sides. They're overpriced. I wouldn't venture too far into the specialties from the sea or land either. I saw what the table next to us got, and it didn't look too good (just my opinion though).

HOWEVER, the fresh whole fish is worth every penny. It's priced by the pound. You can't really ask for an exact weight, but the way they're cooked, prepared, and presented is fabulous. They are fresh, perfectly grilled, and de-boned (which is good because I hate doing the de-boning). In addition, they warn you that it'll take 30-40 minutes for preparation, but I feel that it takes less than that or maybe on the lower end of that range. We ended up getting the red snapper and the black sea bass. Both were delicious options.

Another neat thing to point out is that some of their appetizer plates are long and rectangular, which is easy to share when placed long-ways between two. As for dessert, let me recommend the baklava with PISTACHIO ice cream.

Parking can be rough, but that's just the Harbor East area in general.

“Great food...slow service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Food was great, service was very slow but the staff was pleasant. Would go again but make sure you are not in a hurry.

“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

The word of mouth for this place has been outstanding-the new "place to go" in Baltimore. We were really looking forward to eating here, and while by no means was this a bad meal, it was overall disappointing. The space is beautiful and the setting is nice right across the street from the water. However, it is noisy and conversation at times was difficult.

We ordered spinach pie, lamb meatballs, and octopus for appetizers. I have had better spinach pie elsewhere-it was good but absolutely nothing special. Likewise for the meatballs. The octopus was so heavily marinated that it lost any of the natural flavor. It was good, but definitely not outstanding. For our entrees, we shared the lamb chops and the sea bass. Neither was made perfectly-the lamb was to be medium-rare and came out medium-well, and the sea bass was slightly overcooked. As far as flavor, again both excellent but not memorable. Continuing this theme, the desserts were average (except for the cinnamon ice cream on the walnut cake which was wonderful, although the cake itself was meh). They do pass out ouzo shots at the end of the meal which was a nice touch.

Again, this is a nice place. However, with the price point in the mid $30's for most entrees for above average Greek food, it is simply not worth it. You can get far better food (and quite authentic) for one third of the price at Samos in East Baltimore. We will not be returning.

“very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The food was very good. Fish was fresh. This is an expesive restaurant, however the drink prices are ok. We sat in the bar (which was fun) however it was very loud and would be more enjoyable in the restaurant if you want to have a conversation.

We would go back.

“one of the finest greek restaurants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Friends have been telling us about this restaurant. On Friday we found out why,
the food was excellent, the service first rate and the ambience is a winner.
While there is outside seating, it was too warm on the night we were there.
the bar is expansive and very pretty. Definitely one to return to.
