“Cool, Quaint and Family Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Had the pleasure of spending a warm winter day here and had a great time. Took in a museum, enjoyed Barnes & Noble for a bit, strolled the harbor taking in the outdoor entertainment, did some people watching as well as enjoyed some good food and deserts. This place is what you make it, you can people watch, have your kids enjoy playing in the varied art sculptures or trying out some musical instruments at the nearby park, walk your dog, visit the ships or even take in the lighthouse. We even strolled beyond the harbor a bit to take in some of the nearby neighborhoods. There is so much variety here that it is worthy of a visit. Baltimore did a great job designing this area and we look forward to coming back.

“Fun and Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

I am so jealous of the entire city of Baltimore....their city planners really knew what they were doing when they created Inner Harbor and the layout of the city. There are a lot of attractions right along the harbor or it is just nice to take a walk. We spent a nice bit of time walking around after we visited the aquarium and then ducked inside the mall to cool off (we were there in summer), which was really nice.

“Special weekend in Baltimore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

On the weekend of December 21, 2013 we went to Baltimore to celebrate our 50th anniversary before embarking on a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Caribbean with our whole family. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is centrally located. Room was attractive and the staff attentive. Baltimore is very welcoming to tourists, They had instituted a bus system in the inner harbor (four distinct routes) with travel maps to allow tourists to find what they want to see. And the buses (which run about every 20 minutes) are FREE. So although it rained the entire weekend we had a fabulous time. We visited the Visionary Art Museum (wonderful) and the Whittier (fine). We has a wonderful (but expensive) seafood meal at the Oceanaire Restaurant just around the corner from our hotel - service and food excellent. If you are planning a cruise from Baltimore, spend a day or two at the beginning or end of your cruise and enjoy the City.

“Catch 22?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

While Baltimore has done a wonderful job reclaiming buildings to create an (almost) thriving tourist destination it is also the place that reeks of poor quality food, at inflated prices, amidst a sea of kitchy attractions and souvenir shops. Additionally, the crowds are filled with what appear to be Baltimore's homeless, sleeping in nooks and crannies and urinating (yes, the stench was overwhelming) on the bridge to the hotel. Despite these cons, kudos to Baltimore for having achieved it's goal of harbor revitalization. As a tourist to this city, however, I cannot help but wonder though why do we often settle for less than great just because it is for tourists? With a good footprint established, it seems Baltimore could further benefit, both the city and those visiting, by improving the quality of dining, shopping and attractions.
